I'm surprised that so many Prophets of Rage shows are in amphitheaters. These concerts should be in places with as much floor space as possible!
Looks like a lot of the shows have already been cancelled due to poor sales. I think they were a little ambitious booking such large venues for this.
According to a report, it's Pittsburgh, Tulsa, and Hartford cancelled so far. Hartford is a huge venue and close enough to Mass and NY. Tulsa seems a small market too. Pittsburgh though?
Perhaps the band can honour their marxist ideals by giving us all free tickets.
People need to get paid on the production staff, and concessions and whatnot.
But concessions are on the venue...
Of course the business behind the band needs to be compensated. Fact remains that the respective bands behind PoA have become irrelevant. The USA needs a new political act, something equivalent to Sleaford Mods from the UK.

They also cancelled the Jones Beach show. You know if a show gets cancelled at Jones Beach it basically means they sold zero tickets.....I've seen shows there that were about 1/8th full.

Pit tickets are $90 for the show in Kansas City. That's $40 more than the equivalent ticket for the other two shows I'm going to at the same venue (Florence + the Machine and Modest Mouse). I get that there are people to pay but c'mon
Also, really cool that they are backed by Live Nation. No wonder Zach wants nothing to do with those 3.
My first show wasn't until late April! Unheard of.
The end of my year is slow. My last concert was DIIV, and due to trying to buy a house, I think I only have one or two other shows the rest of the year. It is a sad, sad thing.

What was Kaytranada live like? Did he do some live mixing, what did his setup look like? Also that set was on my birthday right and around the time I was getting super into him. I'm jelly. edit. I also love that your October is essentially just seeing some of the biggest names in music, of all time. I mean, goddamn girl.

No idea if this is representative of his live sets but you absolutely need this in your life.

Kaytranada was pretty good live. He did some live mixing, a highlight was the screen/visuals behind him, it was so vibrant and all of his "album" artwork is so unique. He seemed to be really into it (at least what I could see of his silhouette), which was nice to see, but I was hoping for some guest vocals or something. I am a big fan of his album, but the live show fell a little bit flat from my over-hyped expectations. It was fun though, I would see him again.
Sidenote: Moderat's show was the same week (also at the same venue) and it almost fully eclipsed Kaytranada's in my memory. If you ever have a chance to see them live, don't skip it!
This is a good representation, except it was fully dark but the screen.:

That boiler room has some real characters in it. I was sad not to see any of them at the show

There's so many weirdos in there!!! I love watching Kaytranada deal with them. Sometimes it looks like he's saying something along the lines of, "You know I'm playing this music, right?"
