Just for a minute before heading to The Grind for The Punch Brothers. It sounded good and reminded me of a Talking Heads cover band, which sounds like a fun time, well worth 10 bucks.

Nothing comes to Knoxville that I particularly care to see then Man Man and Cymbals Eat Guitars are both playing in town tonight. Fuck.
The Pilot Light is a tiny venue in Knoxville. They continually bring really awesome bands who would never come here otherwise. They don't advertise much though, so you have to put the effort into keeping up with their calendar. I looked today and Matthew E White is coming at the end of July, and King Gizzard is coming in September. This will be a show on the same scale as the Ford tent without dad rock dj's and without any concern for damage caused by the audience.

Nope. They're not one of the openers. I'm really not sure what I'll be doing tonight.

Oh shit! King Gizz in Knoxville?! I am so there!
E: How'd you get tickets for this? It isn't on King Gizz's tour dates, and I see no link to buy ticks on the Pilot Light's website. Call 'em or just go to the box office? Although, there's a good chance that I'll be able to buy them the day of the show.

I can't seem to find anything for their most recent tour announcement. I've seen a date or two posted somewhere else, but not the full tour. Would love to get the chance to see them again.

It's listed on the Pilot Light's website, but nowhere else. Kinda weird, as I would think that they would have made the full announcemen by now.
It feels really weird to not be going to any shows in between seeing The Rolling Stones and The Grateful Dead in outdoor stadiums (in 2015). 9 more days...

The Pilot Light is a very DIY kind of venue, so they only very rarely do advance ticketing. There's no box office to speak of. The night of the show, they just put someone at the door with a cash box and a hand stamp. Here's a picture to give you an idea.

Just bought tickets to a Cut Copy DJ set at the Museum of Modern Art on the 4th of July. Also bought a ticket to the simulcast of Grateful Dead in Chicago for the same night at Brooklyn Bowl. Cut Copy set is around 3 pm, doors for The Dead are at 6. Happy Bday America!

Trying to decide whether I want to do MMJ in Charlottesville on the 21st or Future Islands 1000th show on the 26th. Not going to be able to pull off both.

Please tell me that you went and saw Man Man? I bought tickets to their show here in September.
Side note, I just did a typical Vieux move, I just bought tickets to shows on Oct 3, 5, 6 and 7th. I don't understand why bands I just can't miss all have to play back to back. Oh and I had to choose between Alt J and Manchester Orchestra on Oct. 7th.

I actually stayed home. I ended up buying a car the next day, so the usual money budgeting panic was hitting me.

I was about to comment and say "I hope you chose Manchester!!" and then saw in your signature that you did indeed Saw them this past weekend at FF, and it was a fucking great show, though I was pretty bummed they didn't play The River orrrrr I Can Feel A Hot One (which is pretty understandable for a festival set list though since it is soo slow and sad haha).

Girl, you know my love of Manchester Orchestra! I was front row at Voodoo for their show. There is some picture of me doing the "dumb, young girl screaming thing," but I was actually singing not screaming. lol :rofl:Plus, I have seen Alt J three times already and their ticket was double what it was the last time at the same venue.

I was dancing so hard and screaming out the lyrics during I've Got Friends and these two like 15 year old girls stared at me as if I was the one doing it all wrong. They looked so unhappy to even be there haha. Gooooooooo home tweens.

Good people of Inforoo - where is the best place to keep up to date with shows in Toronto and Montreal? I'll be over in the Autumn for work and would be great to squeeze a gig in. Thank you!

Depends on when you're coming. If it's in September and you're in Montreal, I'd suggest Pop Montreal. It's a festival but they do a lot of Pop Montreal Presents shows throughout the year.
The only place I know of in Toronto is Lee's Palace.

Thanks. It's October I think, but TBC at the minute.
I was hoping (possibly ambitiously) there would be a good roundup website/twitter feed or whatever.
