Saw Vampire Weekend at Jazzfest last year. Forget who was on the main stage but we weren't feelin' it, then we walked over to check VW out and our penises immediately went soft. It was a good thing though because it gave us a head start on leaving fest and getting home quicker for work the next day.

I'm sure there isn't anyone here that is interested in Car Seat Headrest but I love that he put "a house show" in his press release.

Eric CLapton was on main stage. And he was a fucking snoozefest. Then we get to Vampire Weekend and felt like we immediately got shot with tranquilizer darts because they were an even bigger snoozefest.
That next sunday of Jazzfest was amazing though. Arcade Fire > John Fogerty > Ghost late night show. Best day of jazzfest I have ever experienced.
Watching this just made me really excited to see Kodaline tonight. Sad thing is that I don't care much for their new album - at all. Really hoping they do a fair amount of old stuff too.

My love for Hot Chip just keeps being rejuvenated recently over the past several weeks. They're playing here towards the end of May. As much as I'm stingy and don't really wanna spend $30 on a single show. I saw them twice in 2010 and haven't seen them since. I might go to The Depot to get tickets immediately after I get paid this coming Thursday.
Other shows I'm hoping to go to in the next several weeks: Lady Lamb (maybe, since they're getting some interesting love around these parts) Waxahatchee Young Fathers Dan Deacon Action Bronson
$30 isn't much at all! Especially for Hot Chip. Ur silly, obviously go
I know I know, I'm just cheap. Concerts and booze and groceries are really the only things I spend money on anyway, but It's just that (similarly to what Rothric said a few pages back) most of the shows I go to range from $10-$20. But my buddy Riston is thinking about coming up from Iowa City to come see them with me, so that'll likely color my decision. That said, I plan on going downtown/around Minneapolis to buy these tickets, so unless something outrageous happens, I'll be there.
Yo, anyone that's seen Passion Pit live....are they any good?
I saw them at Lollapalooza in 2012. The sound was really bad. I was used to bangin' Manners out in my car the two years prior to that, so the show really didn't live up to my expectations. Also I decided to see them over seeing The Shins which is easily the worst music festival conflict-decision I've ever made.
Short answer: No, they kinda blow live. But if you really like them, then you should go.
Apparently Mac DeMarco put tour dates up on Facebook and then deleted some of them, opting instead to say "More dates to come". Here's a screenshot of the dates posted before they were deleted:

Nice. That Atlanta show solves my Shaky Knees issue.
I've got Sturgill Simpson and Old Crow Medicine Show next Saturday (5/2), then Zac Brown Band and Jason Isbell the following Thursday (5/7), then Delta Rae the Saturday after that (5/9). That's going to be a great week!
Bought all those concert tickets yesterday. So I'll see at least six shows in May: Lady Lamb (May 5th) Waxahatchee (May 6th) Young Fathers (May 9th) Dan Deacon (May 14th) Action Bronson (May 15th) Hot Chip (May 30th)
Never listened to Lady Lamb, but she seems to have gotten a lot of love around these parts over the past couple years and I'm really enjoying this album so far. I've also never really listened to Young Fathers, but smellycat seems pretty insistent that we listen to them, so I'll check out their show. May is gonna be fucking awesome!!

I got tickets for Neil Young in Cincinnati yesterday immediately as they went on sale and got about the best ticket I could for the price...at that time. This morning my browser tab was still up so I submitted a ticket request to see if they had sold out and it offers me a seat about 30 rows closer for the same money! Fuck you ticketmaster!
They do this crap all the time. Presales routinely exploit eager fans by sticking them with crap seats they know they are going to have a hard time filling later on.

I'm actually a really big fan of the Norva. I just never have a reason to go there. There's also enough gaps for him to play a hometown show. If he skipped it, I'll be shocked.
