Also, you people are completely insane. Drake is huge right now, as much as I hate to admit it. He'd be a top-10 act at this point; over the last year, he's blown up to the point where he's almost as big as Lil' Wayne. Rick Ross would be highly billed as well - he opened for Wayne last summer, but he's gotten even bigger (no pun intended) since them and his new album will probably sell a billion copies.
And yeah, Foster the People is way too big for a Thursday. They'd play a big slot, no doubt.
People on this board have a constant tendency to take any act they personally don't like and downgrade their overall popularity - the rest of the world is not like you.
I wasn't downplaying Foster the People it's just that they recently debuted an album and the only thing I ever hear from it is "Pumped up Kicks". Now it might just be the fact that I don't listen to the radio enough but when exactly did they blow up beyond potentially being a "one hit wonder". Wasn't trying to take away from any popularity they may or may not have, but does their popularity go deeper into their catalog?
Without much material, I could see them playing a later Thursday night This set. I can't see them playing What or Which, though.
And with only a little material, maybe they could "accidentally" miss their soundcheck and blow 20 minutes warming up on stage.

Yes and no. Pumped Up Kicks is far and away their biggest hit, but their success seems to imply they could be more than one-hit wonder. Their album has been on the Top 40 for weeks now, and it has officially gone gold. They've been selling out venues everywhere for a good part of the last year now, and their upcoming tour has them playing in 5000-8000 capacity venues (in Georgia, they're playing the same venue where I saw Green Day in 2009, to give you an idea). Plus, you can see the massive Lollapalooza crowd in the pic above. I'd say they could play pre-pre-HL on What or pre-Which closer.
The fact you don't like Foster the People does not make them a Thursday act. They are way too big for Thursday at this point. Pumped Up Kicks is not their only popular song. Helena Beat, Don't Stop, and Houdini all get considerable airplay. There is no point in arguing it. Let us move on to something else.
maybe not this year and maybe a smaller band when it does happen . but if bonnaroo keeps going the way it is going hey will have to open stages in coming years.

I'd expect Foster the People to play a Friday afternoon on the Which, similar to Mumford and Sons last year. They are kind of in that same phase, where they have put out only 1 and a half hit songs.
I will be somewhere else during this set, hopefully listening to a band with a deeper catalogue instead of waiting around for one good song at the end.
People are drastically underrating Drake and Foster the People. Just my opinion. They would definitely be top fifteen. Drake could be the rap headliner, and no way Foster the People plays Thursday. Sunday Which Stage closer seems more appropriate. They are bigger than Pheonix was so there is no reason it wouldn't happen.
I agree that FtP are too big for Thursday, but Which closer seems a bit too much. I think FtP are probably about as big as Florence ATM at this point and they got a tent last year. It was a probably the best tent slot of the weekend, but was kind of a failure because the crowd was so massive (maybe the largest tent crowd of the weekend). Point being, FtP could get a tent slot, especially with only one 38 minute album, but I doubt it'll be on Thursday.

Didn't we already have discussions about Drake and Foster the People's stage and line-up positioning? Also, I think the discussion for both was at the same time last time too. I'm not complaining. It's just weird how stuff repeats like that.
