Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I'll just summarize my thoughts on the Stevie Wonder headliner-worthy discussion very briefly...I would be ecstatic if Stevie was there as a headliner, but 90% of the Bonnaroo demographic would be disappointed if he were a headliner.
Wasn't Leonard Cohen a pre-headliner at Coachella last year? I would absolutely love to see him there.
Yea he played sunset on the outdoor before Morrissey on the Main. I doubt he would come, I know he needs money but he's what like 74 years old and been on almost a year tour.
Plus I remember djjd mentioning he wont play anywhere that's too hot. Bonnaroo is definitely under that category.
So I just read on thedailyswarm.com that 2010 may be a busy year for Outkast...... it would be sick as hell if superfly managed to get them to play the Roo
I'd have to agree he would headline. Although I'd think he play Sunday for some reason.
They always play Stevie on the pa in between sets, I always think that's someone's way of telling us who to expect next year. Last year it was the Beastie's waiting for Kanye's set. (Jay-Z was also played, so this isn't fool proof by any means.) I just hope this doesn't mean whoever wrote Chocolate Covered Strawberries plays next year.
I hope that you don't actually believe that the song choice in between sets means anything at all other than that's what the sound guy wants to listen to.
A Thieve's Parade 2/24 Conspirator 2/26 Kevin Smith 3/11 Keller 3/17 Papadosio 3/18 JJ Grey 3/25 Bela Fleck/Edgar Meyer 3/26 Toubab Krewe 3/27 O'Death 4/11 Budos Band 4/22 EOTO 4/28 Summer Camp 5/6-29 All Good
I love Outkast, but they not played a live show in... I dunno... 5-6 years. Tried looking-up their last concert date, and couldn't find it anywhere on the net. Anyone have an idea?
Wiki says they "just don't feel like preforming on stage together," and I read a while back that Andre3000 gets unnerving stage-fright.
They have been a Bonnaroo rumor for years, and will continue to.
And, YES... Stevie Wonder is a damned headliner. His name would appear somewhat out of place in the line-up, but Jesus... the man is a legend and he is brilliant live. If anyone saw the Rock 'n Roll Hall Of Fame concert from a few weeks ago, there would be little doubt left about his status @ Roo.

Outkast would be one of the few rap acts I would actually want to see. I would definitely welcome them at Roo and so would a lot of other people. I just still feel it is a pipe dream at this point.
I don't understand how some people think Outkast would be a good headliner but not Stevie Wonder.
I don't expect to see Stevie, but definitely think it would be a great 'get' for Bonnaroo as it's one of the few huge legendary acts left that hasn't a similar festival (Paul McCartney/Roger Waters have played Coachella, U2 is at Glastonbury). He regularly sells out arenas and is well known for putting on a great live show.

For the record......I think Stevie would make a great headliner. More so than Outkast. I was just saying I had read that article....thought it was interesting
OMG can we just start a friggin Stevie Wonder argument thread?
Yes he could headline. Anyone who doesn't think so is entitled to their opinion but the man's been working his ass off for more years than most of the people here have been alive.
That's not a reason to headline. My grandpa worked his off for 50 years, but he shouldn't headline Bonnaroo.
Did your grandpa make as many great albums and hit songs as well as overcoming the odds of making it as a blind musician in the world of entertainment while still being relevant, liked, and respected through all those years?
I'm not saying Stevie should headline.....I just dislike it when people make ridiculous comparisons.

Well the guy before me appeared to mean that he should headline or one of the reasons he should headline is because he worked hard. Talk about his narrative, or great records, or hit songs or how he is still relevant today if you are trying to convince people why he should headline. Working hard is not a reason to headline imo.

If your grandpa is Stevie Wonder he can headline ;D
Perhaps I should have been more clear. He has recorded more than thirty U.S. top ten hits and won twenty-two Grammy Awards, the most ever won by a male solo artist. He's put out 19 albums and is the third most successful male artist in the history of Billboard Hot 100 chart after Elton John and Elvis Presley.
If you think Elton or Elvis could headline then I think Stevie could pull it off.
-When I Hear My Name -Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground -Blue Orchid -Passive Manipulation -Red Rain -Death Letter -My Doorbell -Hotel Yorba -Same Boy You've Always Known -Lovesick -Little Ghost -We're Going to Be Friends -The Hardest Button to Button -Black Math -The Nurse -I Just Don't Know What to Do With Myself
Encore: -Ball and Biscuit -Seven Nation Army -Screwdriver

I'm sorry for being a d*ck. I was just trying to make a joke. Obviously working hard isn't why he deserves to headline, but you, katbur, said it kinda like it was. It was just a joke. I think Stevie Wonder would be a clear headliner. Sorry for riling this up again

although the stages and set times might be off... if this happened i would have a mess in my pants
i doubt MMJ is at bonnaroo this summer... but i wouldn't say that "they are not together right now." i don't think we'll see them again until they have a new album... i mean, the article says they've been in the studio, so maybe an album could be done by next June, but i think the smart money is on a new album in late 2010/early 2011 followed by MMJ killing everyone at bonnaroo 2011...
and i don't think MoF will be at bonnaroo either... i mean, i'm pretty sure m. ward will be busy promoting She & Him's Volume Two.... but i've been wrong before.
