Why does that popmarket.com website take so long to ship vinyl? I snagged one on there like jan 28th and it's just now scheduled to ship next week. The first time I ordered something from them it was a daily deal and it took like 2-3 weeks to get here. This time it was one of the weekly sales and it appears it will finally arrive after 6-7 weeks.

I just picked up LCD Soundsystem - LCD Soundsystem and Outkast - Speakerboxxx/The Love Below, which is not the best pressing but I'm glad to have it anyway.

If you go with the base model I would suggest upgrading the stylus at some point, but it isn't an immediate necessity. sangreal
getting that 2nd one for my b-day I think. I sent the link to my mom and Andrea told me that my mom bought one. what's the best place to buy records online?
Two weeks is the longest I've waited from popmarket 6 weeks and they would be screening my calls
Good luck trying to find a phone number where you can reach them. Notoriously the WORST customer service in existence.
I agree with Ginus. Here's something for you - ordered the White Stripes bundle on Cyber Monday, it arrived in late February, and it was missing one record. They didn't respond to any of my repeated emails until oh, maybe e-mail #5.

Going to a record store is always a lot of fun because you may find something you didn't think about getting but want to own. It's also just cool to find something you may not have known existed or get recommendations from the folks that work there (looking at you rosko). I end up spending more money than I mean to when I go to stores like that though.
I do buy online at times if the price is cheap or if it's directly from the artist. Amazon.com has some cheap Vinyl every now and then (and free shipping if you have Prime). Insound is a good one (having a hip hop sale for the next few days) and I've found records on Discogs in the past. Also, FatPossum.com is for a record label but they've got a bunch of good artists and occasionally (every 4-6 months) will do a $10 record sale where most of there stuff can be bought for $10.
Do: get recommendations from the staff at record stores. They know their sh*t and they're probably friendlier than you think and will be excited to point you in the direction of something new to you that they really dig.
Don't: Walk into a record store and immediately just ask "so what's out that's new?" There are probably hundreds (if not thousands) of releases that can be considered "new" at any point and unless you're more specific, this question will probably annoy the sh*t out of the person working there. Be more specific (I'm pretty patient with these kinds of questions and try to ask more questions, but I know this ticks off record store clerks everywhere). Also annoying is when people want a record with a certain song, but they don't know the title, don't know the artist, and don't know the album title, so I get to play a little guessing game with them. Happens more often than you'd think.
My favorite is when people give me a few bands (or even just a style of music) they like and I can rack my brain trying to find the perfect recommendation.

JEALOUS!! I am too cheap to buy The Wall (though I can afford it). My BF thought he bought it for me for Valentine's but actually bought the singles? Kind of weird, but thought that counts..
so I did this to list my vinyl collection. rateyourmusic.com/~sangreal I have that many already because I got most of them from my dad. you can probably guess which ones.

I'm guessing the Wu Tang Clan and Nas albums were from papa sangreal.
