Anyone know of any good record stores in or near Fort Worth, TX?
Not in Fort Worth, but I’ve seen Forever Young in Grand Prairie ranked on some best record stores lists. I’ve never gone myself. Good Records in Dallas is good, as is Josey Records. Josey has a large selection of used vinyl. If you have hours to spend browsing the shelves, you might find some hidden gems at Bill’s, also in Dallas.
Took advantage of Manifest's buy 2 get the 3rd for a buck sale:
Laibach - Spectre David Bowie - The Man Who Sold The World (2016 180g) Prince - Purple Rain (even includes the poster, which I almost never see... for a buck after the sale!)
And, tomorrow I'm going to take some records and comics to the recod/comic shop for trade in credit... they got in a treasure trove of industrial greatness, including Skinny Puppy and Einsturzende Neubauten records! Very excited.

Do you guys do anything with lithograph/insert images that come with records? I think they're cool to have but I generally just keep them in the record sleeves they came with. Don't typically hang them up or use them any other way.

the only one i've gotten framed is one from the Death Magnetic box:
it looks like that but it doesn't have the metallica logo on it. i think it's pretty dope.
but your comment reminded me of some vinyl record frames i bought recently:
They are $25.95 for a two-pack. Simple, cheap frames with a clear plastic cover, but they look fine. They are made for records, but I bet they'd work great if you have any lithographs you'd like to hang, assuming they are 12x12.
My plan is to buy a couple of these every month and use them to hang my most prized records in my office/listening room/dog's room. They hold the record securely, but it takes ten seconds to remove a record (just rotate the four metal tabs on the back and remove the cardboard backing), so easy to pull down off the wall when I want to listen.

Yea, I have a few record frames at home. I've got one that holds my Monsters of Folk vinyl that I got Conor Oberst to sign (though the record store I bought it from gave me two side 1's so I'm missing side 2) and also a handful of record frames for the picture disc vinyl My Morning Jacket albums I bought when seeing them play their albums at Terminal 5 in NYC.
I think I have a few more around. Didn't think about using them for lithographs. Good idea.
This may have been asked / talked about but im not going through the whole thread.
Anyone here subscribe to a monthly record box thing? something like VNYL? if so how do you like it and do you think it has been worth it?
I've done VMP before and loved it. But they raised the price and the risk that I was paying so much for a record I may not actually want was too high. They do make sure the record you get is awesome and pulls out all the stops to make it special but it's often the best when you would buy the record without the club. My favorite part was that when I visited home from school there would always be a few records waiting for me on my bed. Was able to throw those on, appreciate the packaging, and rewind after the drive.

I jump on and off the VinylMePlease 3-month subscription occasionally. Usually when there's something I really want, then I'll sign back up. I usually keep whatever the next two months are but I like having the option to swap it for something else (which I did recently...swapped Moby for an older Busta Rhymes album I love). You can't swap on the month-to-month deal but the 3-months lets you.
I enjoy it. It has exposed me to some new artists while also giving me some unique pressings of some of my favorites.

Did you do the month-to-month payment? I also didn't want to risk getting something I'm not that into so I go the 3-month and swap out when there's something I'd want more than their selection.

The first I did was Glass Animals. I just paid that month to get that. Then the next month was Beck so I renewed. I got a 6 month for Christmas lasted that year

I just grabbed a copy of Mattiel's self-titled album. She's a blues/garage/soul musician from Atlanta and I missed the boat when her (very good) album initially came out. She posted on Facebook that she found a few extra copies in her closet and now one of them is mine!
