Just when you thought you couldn't love Aaron Paul more!
"Another funny fact about Bryan Cranston - we all know that from Malcolm in the Middle to Breaking Bad, his characters tended to wear tidy whities, but what you don't know is that any close-up shot of Bryan on Breaking Bad where you didn't see the lower half of his body, his pants were always off. His pant were always off. True story, I'm not even joking. His pants are always off. "
Hahaha.
On the DVD commentary, on at least a couple of episodes when Bryan Cranston is in the shower, they say that he insisted on being completely naked for the shower scenes.
He must have nothing to hide...
Also I wish Netflix had the DVD commentary, I had no idea I was missing out on this kind of thing!
I totally didn't see the Hank and Walt confrontation coming so soon in the season. Do you think it has more to do with their conflict being more epic and drawn out than I imagined or is it because their conflict is secondary to the main event of Jesse and Walt? Jesse has suspected Walt of doing him dirty before, but it has never seemed to go anywhere long-term. For the first time, Jesse really seems to know that Walt is lying to him (re: Mike) even if he doesn't have a way to prove it definitely. Given the central nature of their relationship to the show and Walt's long list of secrets from Jesse, I can't imagine that they leave it without resolution on some level, and personally, Walt v. Jesse > Walt v. Hank.
Since I was busy prancing around Provincetown and missed the actual premier, I stayed up until 2am to watch it last night. Just for you, Dave.
The way the neighbor reacted to Walt proves to me that the public is made aware that a local chemistry teacher is a drug kingpin, a murderer, psychopath, etc. I think the only way that happens is if Hank let's the cat out of the bag. But, I think Walt offs Hank trying to keep him silent, and they have some kind of mechanism that's a "if I turn up dead" sort of deal with Hank. The public finds out who Walt is, he grows his depression beard and hides out for the most part until he sets up the pieces for his final showdown with the Czeck's, who I think are the people who really force Walt on the run. Bonus twist: Jesse turns state's evidence against Walt at the urging of Hank.

The DVDs have all kinds of great stuff on them. They go down in price pretty quickly. I usually wait until they are $30 or so, but if you catch them someplace like Target at the right time, you can get them much cheaper than that. I bought the first three seasons for my stepdad for Christmas last year for $15 each.

Now to decide if I buy them now/soon or wait until there's a super duper amazing complete box set? Decisions.

The naive optimist in me wants to think that Walt is prepping for his showdown with the Czech's to help Jessie. I can see Jessie being somehow foreced into working for them since they're pissed about the 68%(?) purity of the product that Lydia mentioned.

The individual sets will likely go on sale CHEAP at different times (definitely around Xmas time, i'd imagine). The box set will likely be expensive but you gotta believe they'll come out with one and it'll be glorious. I have the first four seasons on DVD already and will likely buy the fifth on regular. Then if a box set comes out I'll save up and get the BluRay version.
It seems obvious to me but they have to make an RV for the box.
Below are some epic photos/prototypes that some fan made (meaning this is not real and not for sale).....I wish the real thing would be this amazing:
All Walt has to do is threaten Hank with exposure. He can claim Hank knew all along and was part of the cover up. After all, Walt paid his medical bills. That was hush money.

A sufficient fire has finally been lit under Abra's butt to get her watching started up again. We got through Kafkaesque today (S03E09). About halfway through the episode, she announced that she may not finish the series because it is too stressful on her. That's good and bad, I guess.

I understand where she's coming from. I got to the scene where
Walter Jr. yurks in the pool after having too much tequila
and decided I'd had enough. This was a time when for personal reasons I didn't want to be putting that sort of emotionally-charged imagery in my head. It hit way too close to home. Had to lay off BB for a while, and only came back to catch up about six weeks ago.
And I think that was because looking back on it I was amazed by the artistry capable of provoking that kind of reaction in me.

Hope she de-stresses enough to come around...
Funny -- I was the exact opposite way, just had to keep going. Kept wanting to know each answer. Curse you Netflix and your instant gratification.
I lost track of time and didn't realize the last scene was the last scene. Uggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhh. That's a tense spot to be left hanging. Also, I loved Lydia's scene.
Did it bug anyone that else every single person in Declan's group, including Declan, went up to see what the problem was? Not a single person stayed in the lab with Lydia? That's some clichéd network T.V. sh*t IMO.

obviously they had to do it that way for the plan to work out accordingly but may i also say as a relatively well dressed pale white woman, we can get away with a lot. it is very plausible to me that none of those men took her seriously in her high heels and with her uppity hair-do.

ok so the big link i am trying to make it how lydia and company will get walt involved again. kidnap the kids? kidnap skyler? he obviously has enough money that's not a factor. he's willing to turn himself in. and i believe he is truly sick. maybe he fakes his death and that's why the neighbor is so surprised to see him.
Edit edit edit: I guess they had to do it that way, otherwise within ten minutes of the end of tonight's show there were going to be a shiz-ton of people hauling arse for the desert with GPS units and shovels.

Lydia's character is garbage. One minute she's a blubbering wreck then the next she's a criminal mastermind then back again.
Lydia is annoying, but I don't follow you here, bud. First off, those two things aren't necessarily mutually exclusive, second of all, it's really Todd's psychopathic family members that planned the whole thing; it may have been Lydia's idea to kill Declan but that's probably it.

I have to agree with EAP. I doubt they thought anything of Lydia. Declan started the conversation off with her in a very condescending manner going so far as to say her visit was a waste of his time. He probably thought he would be best served by having as many men as possible topside for the problem rather than guarding someone he didn't consider a threat and probably doesn't give a sh*t about protecting.

I am with A$AP Rosko on this one. Even during her big criminal mastermind scene this week, her role was to get into the lab and then send a text message. She then proceeded to cower in a recessed stairwell and then get walked out of the place with her eyes covered. For me, it went along with her general attitude where she is incredibly tense but will do things when she feels she is pushed into a corner. For example, she pushed for Mike to kill his guys to eliminate witnesses (even if she was jumpy during it). Also, she talked a good amount of trash when they were getting ready to kill her after they figured out it wasn't her who planted the GPS tracker.
Ohhhhhhhhhhh! That was vicious. It was better because, even though you knew it was coming, it was still harsh when it happened. I actually felt bad for Marie because it was her turn to find out how much Skyler and Walt had lied to her over the course of the series. You know it had to hurt worse because it's her only sister who did it to her as well. Marie trying to take Holly was just heartbreaking.
I think showing how Hank is basically f*cked was really well done in this episode. When he sat down with Skyler, I thought that this whole arc would be concluded quickly since it was moving so fast then Skyler's freakout in the restaurant slammed the brakes on the whole thing until the end of the episode when they give the next ray of hope with Jesse. I still don't think Jesse is going to flip on Walt though.
The big thing I pulled from Lydia's scene is that there may be something to the theory about the Czechs having a lot to do with the events that end the series. As stated in my previous post, Lydia will go for it when she is put under stress. Given what she said to Declan about the inferior product, I wonder if she is getting pressured/threatened by the Czechs to resolve the purity issue. If memory serves, the sequence went Todd shows up > text message > gunfire. The text may have been the go ahead since Declan seemed unconcerned with resolving the purity issue. Also, if there was any problem to be had with that scene, it was that Todd's family killed around 8 of Declan's guys without anyone seemingly getting hit. Come on now.
