And this is why I've never watched any serial TV dramas besides The Sopranos. I find a 3-hour movie enough of a time commitment, let alone watching a whole series from start to finish. I'm far too ADD for that business.
But then in January I signed up for Netflix streaming, saw Breaking Bad on there and figured "what the hell, maybe I'll watch an episode or two and see what all the fuss is about". The next thing I know, I've time-warped forward a week and am somehow a few episodes into season three. Then I had to prepare for a big move and general real life crap just got in the way, so I haven't picked it up since.
And now? Well, every time I click on recent posts it's like playing TV spoiler Russian roulette - so I pretty much have no choice but to go on another TV meth binge ASAP, and just hope I can avoid hearing who dies until season 5 pt. 2 is posted online by Netflix and/or a kindly bootlegger (alas, no cable).
Inforoo, you're what AA would call an enabler. Tsk tsk.

That is how I was. I never made time to follow a series and they never seemed interesting when I would happen upon an episode mid-season now and then. Then I watched Breaking Bad on Netflix followed by The Wire on DVD and Game of Thrones On Demand.I really enjoy a good series more than a movie now. There is so much room for character development.
After watching Talking Bad, my predictions for how the series ends are as follows: I think that Walt was kidding himself when he thought he could create an international drug empire and just simply walk away. I think that there will be a lot of conflict between Walt and Hank for at least the next few episodes, but in the end it is the repercussions of leaving the business that will haunt him the most. I think that he needs the M60 to take on a lot of people (I doubt that he needs it to take on the police). I feel like in the end his identity is compromised because of the condemned home and the spray painted "Heisenberg" in the living room. In the end, I think that a lot of major characters are going to die, probably close family members. I think Walt is coming back with the gun to get revenge. I feel like he won't kill Jessie, but instead he either saves Jessie or avenges Jessie in some way. My final comment is that I think he goes out in the end just like Scarface, in a flurry of bullets.

Holy shiz so good. Was on the edge of my seat for all of it. I was so damn happy that they gave us that final confrontation. I thought for sure the episode was going to end as the garage door slammed shut.
This show is amazing. I loved how they brought everyone back into it (Kaley Ehrmentraut, Drew Sharp, Skinny Pete and Badger, Saul, Lydia, etc.) and I loved how Hank totally filled in the blanks on everything.
The part where he's like "You drove into traffic to keep me from that laundromat" and "you killed 11 witnesses to cover your ass" was so damn satisfying.
Man......I can't wait to re-watch it. Hope the whole season keeps this up.
Skyler seemed like she was back in control, like the beginning of the show where she would be able to boss Walt around. I think he's just playing that part. I absolutely loved everything about this premiere.

I know - and that's what scares me! I hate stopping a movie or album or book in the middle, and would just as soon start the whole thing over again. But a TV series that's broken up into easily digestible 1-hour bites? Well, that's just asking for trouble.
The pool of course--Walt's conscience, I guess. Now a dead thing.
One thing in particular that jumped off the screen at me was now that Walt & Skyler are rich, they're wearing earth tones. Remember when they went to Elliot Schwartz's birthday party basically wearing their prom clothes, how all the rich & successful people around them were wearing browns and beiges and so forth?
And I'm not great with colors, but I don't remember seeing any pink.
I dug how Badger's Star Trek screenplay mirrored what Jesse was going through emotionally at the very moment Badger was laying it out.
The kid playing with the remote-controlled car in the cul-de-sac outside Hank's house was chilling. Gotta wonder what becomes of that kid.
Anyway...yeah, great episode.
I think Dean Norris might be my new favorite actor.
thoughts: -marie, you and your purple need to stop. -jesse is a character that i have probably had the most turn around in stance on during a series. in the beginning i found him to be annoying and impulsive. now i just feel for him. i think he is so lost and confused and wants to to the right thing but he just doesn't know what that is. -walt, who wears whitey tighties anymore?? -i almost liked skyler for a second when she was mean to lydia. -i think maybe walt might poison himself in the end.
I totally didn't see the Hank and Walt confrontation coming so soon in the season. Do you think it has more to do with their conflict being more epic and drawn out than I imagined or is it because their conflict is secondary to the main event of Jesse and Walt? Jesse has suspected Walt of doing him dirty before, but it has never seemed to go anywhere long-term. For the first time, Jesse really seems to know that Walt is lying to him (re: Mike) even if he doesn't have a way to prove it definitely. Given the central nature of their relationship to the show and Walt's long list of secrets from Jesse, I can't imagine that they leave it without resolution on some level, and personally, Walt v. Jesse > Walt v. Hank.
Super vague spoilers regarding the structure of the season.
Anna Gunn said in an interview that the first 5 episodes are "exciting" while the last 3 are "breathtaking". I love that it got my anticipation that much higher without telling me anything about the plot.
