I'm glad this is the top of the page so I can avoid spoilers. I'm about to be done with season 3 so I'll be caught up by then. What an amazing show. So addicted.
We just got caught up. What terrible timing, now for a six month wait. This is easily the best show I have ever seen and I don't see how anything could be better. The characters are all so deep and complicated and seeing them grow and deteriorate is so amazing. The tension that the show creates each episode is insane and constantly has kept me guessing. I actually read thus thread all along as we watched it and stopped when it got to whatever episode we were on. I loved reading your theories and insights.
Jenna keeps wondering if we have already seen the "unforgivable" act that Walt commits but I say that we haven't seen the half of it. I am of the mindset that there are only two people that he could harm in the show that would be truly unforgivable and those are his kids. Even Jesse, no matter how much you root for him and love the progression of his character, his death wouldn't be completely unforgivable to me in the sense that Walt now has to do lots of things from a "business" perspective or just to protect his kids. But Walt Jr. or Holly, that would be unforgivable. I was even thinking Walt could simply lose his temper on Walt Jr. at some point and call him a derogatory word and to me that would be completely awful and a way to show his heartlessness.
I could see Jesse somehow being the one who takes Hank down. It's crazy that at this point basically all that's left to wonder is who the heck is going to survive this thing.

My little brother and I bought my stepdad the first three seasons for Christmas this year because we figured he'd love it. He and my mom are five episodes into the first season. My mom really likes it, but she says my stepdad watches every episode going, "I don't know if I like this. I don't know if I like this." She said she asked him why it bothers him because he watches movies and plays video games where people are killed right and left, and he said, "Yeah, but that's not real. This makes you really think about it."
I was thinking about this, and my first thought was that maybe he is so upset by it because he's still trying to think of Walt as a basically good guy in a bad situation. That's one of the things I love about this show is how your perspective changes throughout the series. It's not that I think of Walt as an inherently "bad" or "evil" person now, but having watched the whole thing several times through, when I watch the first few episodes, I see a lot more signs early in that Walt was kind of an a$shole all along.
Anyway, I want my parents to keep watching it because it's so good, but I'm a little worried that if my stepdad is this upset by the first five episodes, he's not going to be able to deal with some of the things Walt does later.

My Girlfriend and I are currently catching up and about to finish season 2. What has hurt most so far was a scene in season 1. Walt is on screen and all of the sudden Didn't I by Darondo starts playing. brought me right back to the disappointment of being on the farm last year and having that show get cancelled. Absolutely devastating..but props to breaking bad for picking good music

I just started watching last night. The 2nd episode was pretty morbid, so I had to take a break from it until I started the 3rd episode. I'm not trying to hate on your guys' show here (I like it and I'm going to continue to watch), but...Does the acting and dialogue get any better as the series progresses?

It's been a couple years since I watched the first season so I can't really remember my thoughts on the acting/dialogue, but yes the acting is pretty fantastic throughout. Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul are both great, and there'll be a couple more characters added later throughout the series who are just as good IMO. I've never had a problem with the acting/dialogue either. I'd be shocked if you don't come around on it more.
This show is amazing. I'm now in Season 3 and Walter is about to start working at his new job. I'm anxious to see if it further divides Walt and Jesse or if they reconcile and get back together somehow. And I really want a cup of that coffee that Walt's lab assistant brews.
Edit: Can anybody tell me what page season 3 discussion starts in this thread? I don't want to go searching and end up with a spoiler.

One thing you could try, Monster, is finding the airdates of Season 3 Episodes (can be foudn on Wiki) and then looking at the dates of posts. Read the posts from the day it originally aired up until the day the next episode airs (until you watch the next episode).

Finally got my roommate to start the show, and we've been blazing through it. It's funny how it always takes people like a month to get through the 1st season, which has 7 episodes, and then they finish season 2-4 in roughly the same amount of time.
We're on s4e7 now, and I just can't wait till we get to the final stretch of episodes.
It's funny that I post now, as I read the last few posts, because I just finished watching episode 7 of season 4... Coincidence?
So yeah, just started watching Breaking bad 3 Weeks ago. Me and my girlfriend are destroying this show, trying to catch up before the 2nd 1/2 of season 5. When is it suppose to start???

they had Bob Odenkirk guest starring as a sleazy type lawyer on the last episode. stole the show! I get soooooo excited on sundays at 9 or 10 when this comes on. Cranston is the man!!
he's a regular character through every season, and is amazing throughout
