Was supposed to be heading to Vibes today... currently sitting in my room with some air conditioning. It's 30 degrees cooler in my room than right outside the window.
It's already 101 in Hartford, 95 in Bridgeport, 104 in Newark. And that was an hour ago.

...RECORD HIGH TEMPERATURE TIED AT BRIDGEPORT CT...
A RECORD HIGH TEMPERATURE OF 103 DEGREES WAS TIED AT BRIDGEPORT CT TODAY. THIS TIES THE OLD RECORD OF 103 SET IN 1957. THIS IS ALSO THE ALL TIME HIGH FOR BRIDGEPORT.
And this is why I didn't go to Vibes today. Even right now, where it's 10 something at night = it feels like a sauna outside. Heat index is still up in the 90s. It's worse than Bonnaroo last year.
So I was just doing what I usually do when I'm sober and alone... snooping around the house, looking through old shit. I usually don't find much anything of use or note, but I just found about two handfulls of misc coins... some, I have no idea what they are, but there are many half dollars from the 60s, an old big penny, and a number of silver dollars from the 20s. How would I go about finding the value of these and/or selling them?

FedEx them to me overnight and I will let you know the value the coins.
Ha!
Yes, Lordrockinhood, those dollars were the last dollar to be pressed in silver... some are in shockingly good shape. I'm going to be extra careful of being ripped off. I'm still not even sure of selling them. I know you can have them graded and such, but I don't know where or how you would go about selling them... and thanks but no thanks, Scrog.
Please, be a good Xian and give us our goal of $ 15k so we can get this tacky chandelier to express our fear and love of god... For the children. And Ethiopia.
So, quick poll here - if you had a chance to sit down to lunch with one of the key figures behind the greatest music festival in the world (I think you all can guess which one I mean - the BIG one), what would you ask him?
This question might not be as hypothetical as you'd think... ;D
For once, I'm actually not talking about the Capps man. That would be the correct answer if I were talking about the greatest festival in the world today - but I meant the greatest one ever.
^^close enough. I recently found out that I'll be sitting down to lunch with Elliot Tiber later this summer.
I have so, so, so much I want to ask him, and yet I'm also drawing a blank on what exactly to ask him. I'm trying to come up with questions that are a bit more thought out than just "what was ______ like?" I've never done a music interview (or really any interview) before, and I really want to avoid asking a bunch of half-assed rookie questions with a guy like this.

Ask him if he really thought that many people would come...and if Jimi was asked to play the National Anthem or it was just what he did....and if he would ever do it again!
Flaming Lips & weezer are doing two shows, Thursday/Friday in New Jersey & New York, in which they will switch off playing songs in one uber-set... My friend has a 50-50 shot at getting VIP tickets for tomorrow night in New Jersey. If he gets them, we are totally booking an overnight to NJ. I shall soil myself with joy if this happens.
