Thinking long term, what effects in the region might we see from the Iranian president dying in the helicopter crash? And how certain are they that the crash was an accident?

I think there was a blizzard going on? Probably safe to say it was an accident.

I read that it was more heavy fog and impending storms. My older son has an inordinate fascination with such things and told me that the helicopter they were flying in (a Bell 212) was also 40+ years old with questionable maintenance flying into weather that it was not built for. Lends to thinking that it was more likely an accident, but you never know with such things.
A thing to remember in Iran is that the President is actually second in charge to the Supreme Leader. Raisi was the logical and apparent successor when the current Supreme Leader left office. It appears the vice president has been installed as the interim president pending another election. All in all, it is definitely a concern, but there appears to be a plan in place for succession.
