Actually he had on a jacket, that had more ammo in the pockets. He took that off and ran naked from the Waffle House back to his apartment down the street and got some pants. Then took off into the woods.
One of my employees lives in that apartment complex and has been up all night from the gunfire and helicopters.
I’m sick of being 32 and still being treated like I’m 12 by my oldest sister. When does it stop? She wants to dictate the kind of relationship I have with my father, and I finally called her out on it last night. She’s now threatening to boot me out of the family trust, like that threat will somehow repair all the reasons I don’t talk to my father. I don’t want money, and it grossed me out that that was the first thing she mentioned.
I general like my job, but the travel has gotten old and makes it impossible to plan for things. I was "on call" for Atlanta for two weeks in a row then today received notice I've got to travel the next two weeks back to back.

My parents cat has to stay at the vets for a couple days because her blood work came back with signs of kidney failure.
Update: She didn't have to stay at the vet because they realized she wouldn't a very cooperative patient. They gave her some fluids and antibiotics then sent her home. She passed overnight. To say RIP is not fitting to her personality, so... Give 'em hell, you little witch.

I've lost track of how many jobs I've applied to in the last 5 months. Not one interview. Only 4 places actually bothered to email me saying "no thanks."
Losing all hope.
edit: put in an application at 9am. Got a call around 11am. had an interview at 12:30.
Monday evening our internet and TV went out. called at&t, earliest they could send someone out was today between 8am-12. so i'm working from home, we're half an hour past noon and they aren't here yet. website says "sorry we missed appt lol we'll get there when we can" but no updated time. having a hard time concentrating on work waiting on them so i'm dicking around on inforoo.
it's a minor thing to grr about in the grand scheme of things but it's frustrating. i leave for movement tomorrow and would really like my wife to have internet while i'm gone (she's a teacher so she can't take off work to wait on at&t tomorrow, if it comes to that).
the only positive of no internet or TV over the past few nights is we had to dig into the attic for entertainment, and found my old Battlestar Galactica bluray set, along with Upright Citizens Brigade season 2, so we've been enjoying watching those. BSG totally holds up, such a great show. and UCB completely reshaped my philosophy on comedy in high school, so I'm always happy to revisit those sketches.
We rewatched the miniseries sometime in the past year, so it's reasonably fresh in our minds.
I don't know if I have mentioned this before, but I never knew about the mini series. I had tried to watch the series 4 times until this most recent time. thejeremy told me about the mini series and made me watch it. I am so glad I did. The reason I could NEVER get into the show was because I had no idea what was happening.
I have now watched it, in the correct order with the mini series first, the movie that goes in between, the webisodes in order at the right place in the series. thejeremy says I don't like the show because I bitch about the changes or new characters, but I do like it. I just didn't like certain people, who all got killed or written off anyway.

My dad has been in the hospital for a week, and I only found out about it yesterday because his neighbor thought I should know. We’re not the closest to each other, but it hurts to find out that he’s been hiding months of poor health from me.
The nurses I talked to last night recommended looking into home health care or assisted living for him, and I have no clue where to start with that. I’m only 24. I wasn’t expecting to have to deal with stuff like this for at least another decade.

That sucks. I am sorry to hear that you are having to deal with that. Sometimes life comes at you fast and makes you grow up faster than you want. Good luck and good thoughts!

You might try home health care first depending on his ability to be self sufficient. That gives you some time to look for a good assisted living. And that is a chore. There are very few goods ones. Start looking online. And then go visit in person. Finiding a good home health care worker is a task too. They don't cook or clean. I asked "well what the fuck do you do?" They didn't like that. They sit with you and drive you to your Doctor appointments. So you may have to try several before you find one that works out. And make sure you put away anything that could be stolen or used for identity theft. Hate to be a debbie downer, but it happened to my Father. He bought the health care worker's boyfriend a new motorcycle with stolen checks.

Unfortunately, the stealing part is super true. Our publisher's husband has a caregiver that they had to fire because she was stealing pain pills and getting drunk at work and filling the bottles up with water afterwards. They did an intervention because she had been helping for so long, but she ended up stealing from them again. Sucks that this is the health care situation that we are in today.
This lady pissed me off in the parking garage this morning. I was trying to turn in (have to do a 3 point for this spot) and no one was anywhere near me. But she flew up and was instantly on my ass. I started to back up because I figured I wasn't going to go ahead and hit her, and she holds down the horn. I throw my arms up and mutter some shit. So she rolls down her window and tells me, "Calm down!" I roll mine down and say, "I wasn't going to hit you." She starts chewing on me, and again I tell her I wasn't going to hit her. That mfer should have calmed down - or I should have just backed into her.
