Does anybody know if there will be any sobriety meetings at Bonnaroo? Maybe in the camping areas? Is anybody interested in getting one together, maybe late morning before we head in?

You'll find you are ignored, as most people "look down" on your kind somewhat. This is wrong and I am against it. I like to party, but I can definitely see how your position is more conducive to a productive life. Look up the "Wharf Rats". There will be plenty of "clean and sober" groups on site for you to hook up with. Just ask around and don't be mean to us sinners.
well your being kinda mean dude. just cause hes got different views dont mean ya gotta talk down to him. althoguh he is new here. i hope he dosent preach a lot. thats what gets me pissed. and by the way there are a couple of other inforooers that have talked abotu this. i dont remember who or in what thread but its around somwhere if ya wanna look it up

Well thanks for the info, not at all concerned about being ignored nor looked down on, was a long-term 'sinner' myself and need, for health reasons, to stay off that path and just enjoy myself the good old fashioned way.

Reading comprehension was studied in elementary school. Maybe you should find an old book. (I was NOT talking down to the OP, but I AM talking down to you)
It's all good, I took zero offense, let's all stay in the positive on this one...mainly because I'd like to hear from some others who want to get something together.

oh my bad man. i thought that saying you "looked down on his kind" and that he will be ignored was kinda talking down. usually i address people with more respect and as they are human beings also. sorry for the misunderstanding. you can talk down to me all you want man. tool.

Sorry man... I felt like being a smart ass. It is the internet, after all. Nothin' but love for you, brother.
Yeah I remember that thread fondly, I thought it went well.
Seems to me tha 'roo is a big enough tent for us all, and that is definitely the vibe I get, so I figured I would have no trouble rounding up some like minds for a little sobriety meeting at the start of each day, sort of a little help to those of us for whom "one is too many and a thousand never enough."
OK to sort of get back on topic. Very few people will look down on anyone at 'roo who isn't bothering someone else. Don't sweat it. There are a couple of clean and sober oriented groups there, can't say much about them other than I saw them there. Don't know what their affliltation is, but they're there. And just a word of warning, I don't know what your particular weakness is, but you'll probaby find it in spades at 'roo, stay strong.
Hey, sure, the 12-step folks (Wharf Rats etc.) had daily meetings in Centeroo; they were permanent fixtures (where else) at the coffee tent. Plenty of folks, too. I always at least go by and make a donation for a piece of candy or a sticker or an Amstel Lig...whoops.
Good guys and I'll bet there will be more and more every year. Have a great time sober!
