Just in time for Thailand's 5 day long new year celebration I think I've finally perfected my hangover prevention method. Testing it out tonight to be sure...
Nope. 1000 people constantly throwing water on you. Apparently 4 plastic baggies wasn't enough.
Take it all apart (cover, battery, etc) and bury it all in a bowl of uncooked rice. The dry rice should work well to get all the moisture out.
Or don't take your phone to an event in which you may find yourself innudated by strangers.
Or you could still go to the crazy water flinging and you could put your phone in your shoe and shove it up your butt (I learned this trick from this board). That is how I am going to try to get some gawd dam light bulbs into Bonnaroo this year. What the f*ck century are we living in! Why does El Cappo have a thing against individual incandescent illumination? What's with the nefarious monopoly? He gets light bulbs, why don't we?
I'll tell you why: The Moon bought Bonnaroo way back at the beginning. And The Moon is a f*cking jealous, sadistic butthole. That's why they focus on all that 'solar power' propaganda - to deflect attention from The Moon. And it's real easy so to get some one hating on the Sun; "jeepers, that Sun is burning me", "wish we could get out of the Sun", "can't wait until the Sun goes down it will be better then".
Tell me you haven't heard those things. I dare you. Just gets dropped into conversation real easy. By who, you ask? Pale people that's who...those who have the most to gain by The Moon's planned rise to dominance, starting with Bonnaroo.
Just saying.
I hope your phone will work after you try the rice thing.

Like jfg108 said, take it apart and throw it in some rice. Rice has saved several of my electronics from a watery death before. And for future reference, if something electronic gets wet like that, avoid trying to turn it on if possible. Just get it in some rice asap. Hope you're able to revive your phone!

okay so last night started off with three glasses of 18 year. Extra classy. My older brothers and I got together for my dads retirement party, the first time we have been in the same room in 2 years. The oldest just got done with SERE training, the middle just got done with coachella, and I have recently finished my transition to a new role at a new company. Wegot housed.
It ended with several glasses of goose island, which brought up the debate of where an island for geese would exist, then ultimately lead to changing a flat tire (the driver was sober) which lead to my brothers and I getting in a massive fight over who was going to help change the tire and who was going to stand and say "yep", which lead to me walking two and a half miles to the hotel, which lead to waking up at 7:45 and somehow being at the office by 08:30.
Is this the right place for "drunken morning after" ramblings? Should we make a new thread for that?

I think any and all alcohol-related ramblings, night of OR morning after, are welcome here
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.

I know it doesn't mean shit at this point but just remember, there is a HUGE debate about if next year is an anniversary year. Hopefully it will work out next year
Oh oh I WILL be at Roo '16, dontchu worry. There were just too many factors that worked against me for making it happen this year. But if you wanna come to Firefly '15, see ya there............ (Is my enthusiasm palpable? BEST FEST OF THE YEAR, OMG)

Would that I could, my dear. That lineup gives me the most confused festival 50/50 of recent memory, Macca and Morrisey (seriously?!) playing alongside of the new version of sublime and steve aoki.
This time last year I was saving every spare penny for my trip back to big red. This year I have no plans to return to China, regardless my money will probably be going toward either FFF or ACL.

Everything about Firefly (namely the actions of shitshow RedFrog) brings me much confusion, but it is suppppper close to me and Macca will be there, so, there are worse ways to spend 4 days in the woods. Plus I've got a great group of friends going blah blah, and actually there are quite a few great hidden gems on the undercard (cannot waiiiiit to see BORNS, Jungle, Sylvan Esso, Joe Pug, etc.), but the fact that the top lines include Aoki, Sublime w/ bullshit Rome, FtP and KoL................ If FF idiotically gives Aoki an unopposed late night spot (I mean, would they be that dumb? Totally possible), I will most certainly be spending that time frolicking through the woods, maybe taking a hammock nap, far far far away from his set.

I'd go if I could, and probably take a similar approach during the sunrise aoki set haha. Cheers, enjoy and get your butt to the farm in 2016!
When ever I go for a day or so without checking the boards and I see that people "liked" something I said in the drunk thread....I always have to go back and see what it was I said because I dont have much recollection.
I have Bonnaroo dreams ALL year. Sometimes It takes place inside, sometimes outside, sometimes on a beach, sometimes I even watch large parts of shows in them. Last year I dreamt that Cedric from TMV stopped their set (in a very castle-like stilt-tent?)a few moments-in because my girlfriend was still waiting in line at a porta-potty. The farm often changes in form and layout, but it seems like it is now a permenant landscape in my dream-world.
I had a dream last Bonnaroo that Jennifer Aniston was there and she was like my groupie. Following me around wanting to be my BFF or GF (not even sure which.) Then I bumped into Flea and John Frusciante and we were walking around camps talking about writing songs. On a scale from 1 to awesome, that dream was super weird... Not as weird as the dream where I was a Nascar driver on roller skates while it was snowing and I needed to "take a break" to have a snack with my dead grandpa... but weird.
I don't think I'm still drunk from last night, but I just had an unexpected conversation on the phone with an old roommate who now apparently lives in Wyoming who I haven't spoken to in almost a year. I think one of the last times I saw him, our hands were on the hood of a police SUV. So. I'm gonna do what the thread title instructs me to do.
Last night I went to an opening night party at the theater I work in. Plays do previews for about a week and then typically open the next friday and if they're on one of the two main stages, they throw a party with free food and free beer and wine. It's undeniably awesome. Last night was the third one that I've gone to. It wasn't too exciting, in fact towards the end, it was more eye-opening than completely fun. But, let me run this down for whoever is reading.
First opening night party: I had just started the job a few days before, but the first friend I made told me that there was gonna be free beer and free food after work that day and I in all good conscious can't turn down free shit, so I went. I, for whatever reason, didn't end up eating anything and hadn't really eaten that day. I drank four or five beers really quickly, then Irish goodbye'd my way out of the building. I ended up meeting with this girl I was sleeping with at the time and her castmates. I got two shots of tequila and a beer immediately upon arrival because the second I got there I realized I shouldn't have been there, so I figured I'd have some fun with it. I was kinda snarky and unnecessary, so I enjoyed myself. I then went on to walk with her back to her place, blacked out on the way there, insisted we tango in the middle of the street, almost broke my hand, slightly broke my glasses by tripping and smashing my face into a parked minivan, slept on the sidewalk for awhile, then passed out in her room. Not one of my prouder moments.
Second opening night party: You're allowed to bring one guest into the party. I brought my friend Bree. We had a pretty good time. She's great to have at a party. She doesn't feel the need to stay in one place; if she hears a song she wants to dance to, she'll walk away from you right in the middle of a sentence and come back all sweaty two minutes later with a story about trying to get with some girl she met on the dance floor. All this is pretty great, until she drinks too much. This wasn't helped too much since I'm through and through an enabler. I kept stealing booze from people's tables after the bartenders "ran out" and then I would chug half and then hand it to her and say, "finish this." It got to the point where we were two of the last people left at the party and with red wine stained lips, she was loudly spouting stories of hallucinogenics while my security guard, turned on-the-job friend of mine, was walking back and forth. I told her she needed to tune it down or we should just leave, so naturally we left. We went upstairs to the office I keep my belongings in for parties like this and in the middle of a sobbing conversation about her father she fell asleep in a chair while I was packing my bag and switching shoes. She ended up sleeping in the office for about an hour and a half while I attempted to get her up, but the girl can sleep through anything. I have a video of her sleeping at a show at Bonnaroo last year with music fuckin' blasting and people walking over her. We got home at 5am. I slept on her bed. I made her sleep on the floor. I woke up in the morning, took a hit and chugged some black rum and went on my merry way.
Last night's opening night party: It was relatively uneventful. I brought my friend Joe (who also has a history of not handling his booze; quite the trio I've collect with myself, eh?), but he left after half an hour because his girlfriend needed his company because a family member of hers had died earlier that day. I was with my friend Jacob after Joe left and we were shooting the shit for about twenty minutes when this beautiful girl I met at a party a year ago approaches us. She's easily the most flirtatious girl I've ever met, very hands-y, very sexually assertive, extremely attractive, but she's a theater person so she's kind of ridiculous when other theater people entered the room. Basically I had a similar interaction with her as I did the first time we met where we're hitting it off and then the person I'm with wants to leave: I hug her goodbye, slightly caress her back, she gives me the eyes, squeezes my arm, bites her lip, looks me up and down, I put my hands on her waist, take a deep breath and turn to walk away as she says she hopes to see me again soon. In a mood on the way home, I ended up convincing my buddy to get up to some trespassing and general debauchery to calm my mind.
I wrote this halfway through writing all this: I now see that I'm basically writing about how I have many different relationships with the women in my life and it's too much to handle sometimes.
tl;dr When free beer is involved, something interesting always happens. Always. Oh and I need to get laid.
I was at a bar from open to close (11am to 3am) with my roommates and another random group of girls that decided to do it yesterday. They made the day go by a lot faster (along with cornhole/left right center/other various card games). They have something called Friday After Class where you can get free food (burgers/hot dogs/pizza and pepperoni filled breadsticks/chips and salsa) so we didn't have to pay for food, and pints were only $2 so I didn't end up spending as much as people who do it any other day. It was a long day but it was so much fun. 10/10 would do again.

I graduated college in December, and then stayed in Knoxville living like a college student from January through the summer. I had a 40hr a week job, but it was all remote and I could work on my own schedule. My wife (gf at the time) was a bar tender at a great little dive right next to campus/my house and so when she was working, I would go do my work at the bar, drinking cheap (and free beer) and eating bar food. And then my friends who were still in classes and shiz would come meet up afterward. I probably wasn't my most productive, but it was fun to see the changing mood of the bar throughout the day. And if I needed a break I could just shoot some pool or play pop a shot with the other regulars or the bar backs.

Damn, that sounds like a great time lol. I need to make friends with a bartender or five.
leaving the bar and figuring out afterbar plans coworker a: "we can go to my place, but I don't have any booze" me: "it's cool, I've a few boxes of wine I can bring over" coworker b: "when *don't* you have several boxes of wine to contribute?"
Things that happened today: I went for a run, I started to listen to some Lady Lamb, I walked to work, flirted shamelessly with the new girl while she was talking to my boss's boss who loves me because I love free food and free booze and take it at any opportunity I can muster (even when it's stolen, but we don't have to tell her that, do we?), worked, was offered something of a raise and a promotion if I wanted it because of my work ethic, went to the bar, ate some sliders, drank some beers, watched some basketball, went back to work, snagged someone's ham and cheese and lettuce and tomato sandwich that they clearly pilfered from students that were in the building earlier that day, was told by my co-worker that my ability to put away booze is astoundingly on-par with his German friend who weighs 220 lbs, did some more shameless flirting with another girl I work with, went to a different bar, spent maybe five minutes there, got judged by some strangers for drinking two shots of rail tequila by myself and then leaving immediately afterwards, found 75 cents on the ground, ate the stolen sandwich, watched some dude play that fucking Taylor Swift song with his acoustic guitar on what can only be honestly described as a pedestal, ran in traffic, viscously ate an apple, and now I'm home, pants are off, only to find that none of my roommates are either home or awake and that someone left their amp and sweet ass bass guitar outside of my room in the basement so I'm gonna play Jay-z's Lucifer really loud over my speakers real quick maybe/probably more than once since I watched The Crucible be performed for the sixth time today and all this talk of Lucifer has me hungry for that song, and then I'm gonna plug in and slap some bass for as long as my addled brain feels like it, then I'll probably come back here, watch basketball highlights, laugh at how unbelievably dirty my room still is and how smelly my feet are, then I'll go to sleep and do it all again.
Man. You wouldn't believe it, but I'm not even that drunk. Run-on sentences are just weirdly satisfying to write. I'm not gonna reread that. I'm gonna listen to some Lucifer then play some bass.

tl;dr Pants are bullshit.
Pants may indeed be bullshit, but so is your TL;DR. The real takeaway here is don't leave your food unattended around Nicolas.
Your Kerouac-ian run-on ramblings remind me of a book I have that sums up classic literature as tweets. The page for On the Road just says "for Twitterature of On the Road, please read On the Road". Here's another good one:
