i saw that knoxville said they had seen them and I wanted to ask you and anyone else who has seen them, just how great was it? i know it's a stupid question but I'd love to go to one of their shows... how was the light show? details details
The light show was incredible the show included: A giant disco ball that rose up from the middle of the stadium it spun while lasers from the rim of the stadium hit it, then it opened up like a flower (bad description but it was awesome!) Big blow up pigs that inflated at one point in the show, had glowing red eyes!!! During the Comfortably Numb guitar solo it started to rain a little, David Gilmore set the guitar on the stool and played a solo that was beyond description!!!!!
The chances of seeing another Pink Floyd show live are slim to none, unfortunately.
They had one of the best lighting rigs I've ever seen (over 250 shows in the past 10 years from all kinds of bands). The only thing I've seen surpass it was Nine Inch Nails on their last tour.
Center screen ringed with lights that could rotate in a hemisphere and videos being projected on it. Smoke, lasers, a central sphere knoxville mentioned, and sound that rivalled the Dead.
If you've seen the Allman Bros on the last few tours, then you've been exposed to 1/10th of Pink Floyd's stuff...

oh man, that sounds awesome... really wished i coulda caught one... oh well, life goes on...but good to hear some of the cool things they did and how good they sounded..

Saw them twice...my very first concert at the age of 12 in 1970. Dark Side of the Moon tour. Then again in the 80s in Atlanta after The Wall came out.
Both changed my life!
Also met David Gilmore in a tiny pub off the coast of Scotland where he was vacationing with his family! We had missed the ferry back to the mainland, and the only lodging we found was in this little cinder block shack behind the local pub. I was with my sisters and we went in the pub to warm up. Brooke jabs me in the ribs and says,"I swear to God thats David Gilmore!" "There ain't no way David Gilmore is in this hole," I told her. "My cousin owns this hole, mate, and I am David Gilmore." He bought me a pint!!

I saw Pink Floyd in Canada on their Division Bell tour. It was the best live show I've ever seen and I've seen alot of shows. Aside from the spinning disco ball and the inflatable pigs we were also treated to a airplane that flew over the crowd and exploded stage left. It was awesome!!! The lasers they used on that tour has never been used outside of a lab so they were quite amazing...Their were close to 75,000 fans in BC Place and there was not a bad seat in the house....Really amazing!!
While a PINK FLOYD show is easily a most fantastic overall lighting/sound spectacle (truly remarkable -- I've seen several shows --indoors & outdoors-- on the '87 and '94 tours), a ROGER WATERS concert does the Floyd music way better. I always liked to say: if FLOYD and WATERS were both doing concerts the same night in town, I'd send all my family and co-workers to FLOYD to enjoy the experience, by I'd go w/ my close friends to ROGER WATERS!

Really?? I saw Roger Waters the last time he toured. It was really good. there was an eclipse that day, and the last song they played was brain damage/eclipse. "And the sun is eclipsed by the mooooon" were the last words sung. Pretty frickin cool, but I'd still take The Darkside or Wall tour anyday. Or could you imagine seeing em with Sid back when they played small pubs. that'd be something to see.
