I've got a bad habit of needing a tv on to fall asleep, and I never set a sleep timer...which I'm sure is no good for my tv, dvd player, or myself...so I usually put on a movie to fall asleep rather than music. and for this I recommend:
underworld lord of the rings trilogy any kind of anime, but especially something with dreamy dvd menu music...
im in the same boat....i must say in comparison to your lord of the rings...starwars...
Pink Floyds, animals or dark side... The White Album, or the Let it Be... symphony #9
John: We don't even understand our own music Spider: It doesn't, does it matter whether we understand it? At least it'll give us . . . strength John: I know but maybe we could get into it more if we understood it
Marconi Union - Distance not on the album, but -----> www.dotca.co.uk/mp3/marconiunion_thecontact.mp3 Sigur Ros - (), Ágætis Byrjun Broken Social Scene - Feel Good Lost The Album Leaf - In a Safe Place, One Day I'll Be On Time Mum - Finally We Are No One, Yesterday Was Dramatic - Today Is OK The KLF - Chill Out (seriously, this is actually good and nothing like .. The KLF is Gonna Rock Ya!) Brian Eno - Apollo, or any of his Ambient albums
I don't really do albums, I do songs. I have a playlist on my ITunes that I sleep to most every night. The music just keeps on increasing. I usually take about 30 or so songs, which is about 2 and a half hours of music and put that on. The whole "sleep" playlist I have has like 400 songs or so. Some artists that have a lot of music on the list are:
The Beatles (a lot off of the White Album and Abbey Road) Ben Harper (a lot off of Both Sides of the Gun) Bob Marley & the Wailers Cat Power Citizen Cope Dave Matthews Band Explosions in the Sky The Grateful Dead Incubus (most of what's on here is from their Live Unplugged Set) Iron & Wine Jack Johnson My Morning Jacket Paulo Nutini (he only has 1 CD, and I have like half of that on the list) Pink Floyd (well I have like 1 or 2 songs from almost every album, they just have those songs that put in another world) The Postal Service Sigur Ros Xavier Rudd

air, boards of canada, radiohead, grateful dead.
sigur ros is the kicker tho. they've been my sleeping mainstay for several years now. when i saw them 2005, its was in a theatre in minneapolis and i fell asleep during agaetis byrjun. i couldnt help it, its just too soothing and heavenly and the theatre seats were too comfy.
i could see them putting us all in a trance late night.
I don't listen to music while falling asleep... I have a sound machine. best $20 ever spent. it has six options rain forest, ocean, heartbeat, summer night, waterfalls and rain. Very Relaxing! ;D
theres no particular flaming lips album cause they usually have a song or two that will definitely wake you up, but if u make a mix it can be fantastic
Just keep listening to MMJ, after a while you will experience a total sensory overload and as a defense mechanism your body will shut down.
...maybe?
Oh, wow. I hope that doesn't happen at Roo. I'm expecting complete sensory overload, and in fact I am anticipating my head exploding. I hope I don't fall asleep!
Really good music to fall asleep to is ambient music. Try some Orb or Shpongle. If you want Roo music, go with JJ or Rob&Ally.
This man came up to me just the other day, asked me I'd been born again. I told him, "I didn't think I had." That I had been rejected. But I think, Hell's got all the good bands anyway. And Bonnaroo.
