I just talked a buddy of mine into rounding up the cash and making his way to Bonnaroo this year. He is up in Albany, NY. We plan on meeting up in Atlanta cause we both have family there and leaving from there. He does not have a ticket yet. Does anyone have any suggestions on finding the cheapest airline ticket for him to ATL and also the best way of going about purchasing a ticket to the Roo. All suggestions and reccomendations would be greatl appreciated. Thanks!
for airline tickets i checked out the travel packages link from bonnaroo and the airline prices were as good or better than any other site i looked at (expedia, southwest and a couple of others) - about 280 roundtrip from buffalo to nashville, so i would think it would be a bout the same for your friend to 'lanta, in the end i decided on road tripping it anyways.
as for bonnaroo tickets, i still haven't got mine yet - on ebay they are going for about 175 with shipping now and at that price i would rather spend a few more bucks and go the official route and not have to worry. hopefully they'll start to come down as more people realize they can't go or have xtras.

I definately suggest spending the extra few bucks to get it from Bonnaroo. If its significantly cheaper on ebay or something and you are tight on cash go for it, but I have had HUGE issues with ebay/paypal recently, so I dont exactly trust them anymore.
Check Orbitz for airline tickets, and then go to the actual airline site and book there and you usually save $10 or so. Definitely check Delta and Airtran as they have hubs in Atlanta and should probably get you your best deal. Also check Clarkhoward.com. He has a travel deals link (he is a consumer reports type guy out of Atlanta). The travel deals are usually from Atlanta, but I would not see why they could not go the other way.
On the Roo tickets, it all depends if they sell out or not.

Yea that true bout the roo tickets. It would be nice if he could just pick one up at the gate. Yea I remember Clark Howard. I lived in Gwinnett county for like 12 years and listened to him a lot on am750. He's a smart man. Good suggestion.

Well, I was *kinda* in the same boat as you, I'm flying into Nashville, but when I found the cheapest fare was Delta (with a stop in Atlanta) I arranged my flights so I'd have a 3.5 hr layover Monday night on the way home so I could have dinner with my brother there. So I'd recommend checking out Delta...
as for the Bonnaroo ticket, well, I just now (like 5 minutes ago) bought my ticket through stubhub. Or at least I hope I did! It was listed at $146 and with service fee and shipping it's $172.55. That's better than the $209 total if I would have bought from the 'roo site.... I just hope all goes well with this my first stubhub transaction....
I use [ftp]www.kayak.com[/ftp] What they do is search sites like orbitz, expedia and the airline websites and then just link you to them when you choose your flight. That's how I got my rental car too.
