lately, i've been spending about 60% of my waking hours anticipating june 15th. we'll be leaving wednesday night for atlanta, where we'll meet some friends, spend the night, and leave for manchester early the next morning.
if i'm already spending as much time as i am thinking about roo and getting ready for it, i don't know what i'm gonna be like in june. i'm a first timer, but it's good to see that all the vets are just as/more excited than i am. tell me - does you just get more and more pumped as time goes by? does it slip your mind and you go through may not thinking about it, and then suddenly it's right around the corner?
just to continue with the postivity - i'm so excited about all the acts i'm gonna get to see. there are several artists/bands who i'd put in my "favorites" column, but a surprisingly large percentage of the artists drawing me in are people i'm only just familiar with. amadou & miriam for example - i don't know their entire catalogue, but i will be there just to experience it, to feel what it is that they're putting out. dungen, too; i wasn't even aware of them until early '06, but this is a show i don't plan on missing. whether i'm hearing songs i've known and loved my whole life, or stuff i've never heard before, it's gonna be great.
Only 60%? just kidding but a lot of my time is going to thinking about Roo and same goes to my traveling companions. Ill be sititng in my room with my room mate and it will be silent as we are both doin work then randomly one of us will say to the other, "Man I can't f*ckin wait for Bonnaroo!" I think I get pumped even more everyday. Is that normal in first timers?
At least time is moving quicker than i think it is. I remember seeing the countdown the first time and thinking how long 82 days was. Almost at the 63 day mark now. I'm sure glad times goes faster in real life than it seems to be in my head for Roo.

I've been in '04 & '05 -- I only started hitting up message boards before '05, and I've only been OBSESSIVELY hitting up message boards (mainly b/c I'm at work) this year. The last couple years I'd get really excited, then go through a phase of not so excited right before we left, and then it all kicks back in during our drive to Chattanooga on Wednesday.
This board is helping me stay excited daily - I don't feel my excitement going anywhere this year. BEST LINEUP EVER.
sometimes it's almost easier to see the negative in things. i am all for this thread. there's so much to look forward to - many awesome bands, chilled people and life experiences. rock on.
This will be my last Bonnaroo, at least for the next 3 years or so. I enter law school next fall and I sincerely doubt I'll have time and/or money during the next 3 summers to attend.
Aww, don't let law school keep you from Bonnaroo!!! My first 'Roo was '04, which was my first summer of law school. I missed work and summer classes to go that year; I went last year; and this summer, I'm missing part of BarBri to go. Money's tight, but it's worth the break! (You may have some catching up to do when you get back, but that's worth it too!)
