i have heard awesome things about the comedy tent..im so pissed i didnt get a chance to see breur last year..i always saw a huge line so never attempted to get in
Yeah, I never tried to go in because the line was always so long. I always wonder if the comedy is that good or if people are going in for the air conditioning!

i saw jim breuer last year, i didnt even sit in the designated seats, i just sat right in front of the stage on the ground, no wait, and no one really cared, it was great.
"In tomorrow's world, men will not need artificial instruments such as jets and space ships. In the world of tomorrow, the new man will 'think' the place he wants to go, then his mind will take him there."
I saw Todd Barry there in 2004, on a thurs. I really like him, but there was a frickin heckler in there. Hippies shouldn't heckle. My friends went to see the Upright Citizens Brigade on Sat. and they said that there were joints thrown and smoked on stage. I went to see SCI instead, cause it wasn't the original UCB. I'd love to see Jim Gaffigan there this year. I love that guy. Good stoner comedy, cause all he talks about is food. He's got a new album and DVD out now. I might check him out when he comes to town in April.

You know who would be stellar?
Zach Galifaniakis
Whoa, i was just going to say that, but i can never remember his last name. I love his skit on comedy central where hes with the choir or whatever at the end.
the lines are insane for comedy tent... i think on thursday night they should have the comedy be at one of the tents, i know that they cant use a stage for comedy with all the music but on thursday a couple stages are empty, alot more people could catchy the show form a stage.... and for the smokin questionm i have smoked everywhere at bonnaroo and never had a problem except for a prick security dude who pocketed my statsh

Speaking of Zach Galifianakis, wouldn't Fiona Apple be great? He was in her video for "Not About Love." I saw it a few days ago and was pretty blown away. Pretty good stuff. There's a link to it at this site... videos.antville.org/stories/1315779/
Over the past few years, a revolution in concert festivals – and to a larger extent, youth culture – has taken place each summer. In mid June, about 80,000 people are added to the population of the normally sleepy town of Manchester, Tenn. for a weekend as live music fans from across the country make the pilgrimage to Bonnaroo. This year, from June 16-18, Bonnaroo will return with a more diverse music lineup and expanse of other attractions than ever before. With headliners like Radiohead, Tom Petty, Phil Lesh and close to 80 other bands (plus a movie theater and comedy tent), Bonnaroo promises to be better than ever in 2006.
When the event was founded in 2002, Bonnaroo featured primarily jam bands and roots-rock-type acts. But for 2006, organizer Superfly Productions has expanded the lineup, featuring more indie-rock and hip-hop acts, including names like Bright Eyes, Death Cab for Cutie, Common and Damien Marley.
“Bonnaroo has always been about diversity,” said Rick Farman, co-founder of Superfly Productions. “We look for good bands with large grassroots followings, and who have a reputation for a great live show.”
In the increasingly corporate world of concert promotion, Bonnaroo tries to stay as homegrown as possible for a festival of its size. “If there’s going to be a corporate sponsor, they need to bring something to table for the fans,” said Farman. “This year Comedy Central is helping out with and sponsoring our comedy tent. Dolby is bringing in the sound system for the movie tent. As long as it enhances the fest, it’s okay. It’s smart business. There are no huge banners. Bonnaroo is a place to escape the norm. Companies get their message out in a passive way.”
For the 2006 festival, the comedy tent promises to be a valuable addition to the program. “Building the comedy tent really broadens the scope of Bonnaroo beyond music,” Farman said. “Most rock fans may not really go to comedy clubs, so this broadens comedians’ access.” Although the comedy program is still in the planning stages, Farman promises there will be a few big-named comedians announced as being in the lineup soon.
“The key thing for Bonnaroo is to be prepared,” said Farman. “Talk to your friends who have been before and know the environment. There’s a lot to experience, so the biggest thing is to pace yourself. If you need some rest, get some rest. There’s a lot going on, and you don’t want to wear yourself out.
“What we really hope for is for Bonnaroo to become a mainstay, iconic yearly festival. We’ve only been around for five years, so we’re kind of a toddler right now, but we hope to be around for at least 25 or 30, kind of like jazz fest.”
So fill up the tank and pack up the tent – Bonnaroo 2006 is going to be one helluva trip.

They did that last year -- they were showing Reno911 between acts, and they showed the 1st episode of Stella b4 it ever aired. Helps them get a ton of good acts as well, I would imagine.
