Hey. I'm new here. My name is Doug White and I'm the admin over at www.jamfanforum.com (fairly new message board). Anyway. I've been posting to the Roo Listserve and there is some interest in getting you guys, the Listers, and us at JFF together on Thursday for some type of friendly competition. (Ending in a hell of a party of course). Are any of you guys interested? It sounds like a hell of a good time to me but I understand how hard it is to get everyone together also. Do any of you think it is a good idea? If so, post here and we'll try to organize it. I figure 2 or 3 people from each board will be necessary to organize and the rest just bring plenty of booze and food to the event.
The Listers already have some of it planned just for them, but they are interested in including all of us. The events are Disc golf, a bean bag game (can't remember the name), and Beer Pong. Followed by a hellova cook out. What do you guys think?
Definately on Thursday. No music missing going on here either.
It would be a great way to meet folks to see shows with when your campin' buddy takes a dive. My Roo buddy always hits the rack early. I'm going to try to keep him going this year. He was better in 2005 than 2004 so things are looking up this year I hope. I keep telling him what he's missed and he regrets it the next day so bad.
It seems to be a regional thing -- on the Southside of Chicago, it's referred to simply as "bags." If you want to be really specific, you might say "bean bags," but that's it!

This is what they play in the parking lot before a World Champion Chicago White Sox game, right?

Yeah I've never heard of it either, but then I googled it and it looks more like horseshoes. It looked pretty cool though.
It's basically a variation of horseshoes, but instead you throw bean bags onto a wooden board with a hole in it. 3 points if you're in the hole, 1 if your on the board. Partners on opposite ends.

They call it cornhole round these parts of ohio, the other day i was in shop and someone was building a cornhole board, and me forgetting the name was very weirded out for a bit. Anyways, i think this is an awesome idea, and hope i can get there early enough for it. But how bout some ultimate instead of frolf, thatd tickle my fancy atleast.

Haha!
Yes indeedy -- it's also what they'll play in the parking lot before the REPEAT World Series Champion Chicago White Sox games.
Okay, so here's the real question, mostly for the OP.
Logistically, how is this going to work? I know on this board and the listserv there is tons of interest, but the games don't really work with more than 2 people per team (esp. beer pong and cornhole). How are we going to break down this large interest into manageable teams?
I think we'd need several of these smaller teams, and when you win games, points would be added to a running total for each faction(?). I dunno, I just woke up and everything is still kinda hazy.
I'm going to post this to the listserv and see what those folks think as well.
BTW, I think Frisbee Golf has been nixed due to lack of equipment and space.
