...who played some real great song that I wished I was there for, and followed it up with something I believe the singer said was 'David Allen Coe' if my fogged brain was hearing correctly. They had to be the only act playing at the time, because I heard them clearly from my camp.
The song I am thinking of was very high energy.
Somebody told me it sounds like Marah; can anybody confirm that? And what was that song? It was near the end of the set and it rocked.

This was a late set; if I remember, Cat Empire was earlier. I was actually in Centeroo for them, then went back to the tent and had dinner, then went to bed, then woke up to this amazing music. So, probably not.
toubab krewe was fucking awesome!!!!! i missed the beginning for moonshine still which was also a killer show. but i squeezed right up front for toubab. what a show!!!!
Marah played a dead-on cover of The Who's "Baba O'Reilly" near the end of the set (well after midnight) I seem to recall some comment about David Allen Coe, though I don't remember what it was in reference too.
there was a band playing on shakedown street at some solar stage thing. i cant remember there actual name but it was something to the effect of giant panda gorilla funk unit. something like that. they played super late. i went there after toubab and it was a huge nitrous party. tanks everywhere. then the horsies showed up and broke it up some. there was anoter band playing back towards where the church is. silent diner. they brought generators and played in front of their rv. last years show is up on archive.org it was a good show to stumble across late night with nothing going on. we watched for a couple hours them in 04 but not this year. they ended before we got over there. it could have been one of them possibly

Well this was definitely coming from the grounds because there was mad cheering going on an dit was just too amped up to be anything else. Sounds like Marah was the band but for sure Baba O'Reilly was not the tune, so thanks for the help so far, now let's bring it home if we can: What was that fanfukntastic tune they did right before the end? Oh man it was insanely good.

Don't forget about the structure of the tent. Although THAT TENT WAS CLOSER to my VIP TENT, it was THIS TENT (DR> JOHN< MARAH<DIOS MALOS>STREETS) that pointed towards our camp. You can hear more music from the farthest tent from your camp, because most likely its pointed towards you. Marah did LOVE TRAIN, everyone JOIN HANDS at the end of their set. THAT WAS HOT.
