Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I caught a Bright Eyes show on Friday night. It was really quite great, and managed to get a listenable recording from it despite the insane echo in the venue. I posted one song on SendSpace here www.sendspace.com/file/8hmt0v. If you're interested I can make a zip file and post it too. Cheers!

Do you remember if he played more from the new albums (Digital Ashes/Wide Awake) or the older ones? I only started listening to him after seeing him on the artist lineup and while I enjoy the new albums alot his older stuff just doesn't seem to click with me.
1. (New song I think, something about Whore of Babylon) 2. Train Under Water 3. Poison Oak 4. First Day of My Life 5. Ship In A Bottle 6. Take It Easy (Love Nothing) 7. Laura Laurent 8. Well Whiskey 9. Soul Singer in the Session Band (another new one I think) 10. Another Travelin' Song 11. An Attempt To Tip The Scales 12. Lover I Don't Have To Love 13. (no idea what this one was)
I assume they'll have a different or at least longer set at Bonnaroo since they only played for a little over an hour cause the crowd kinda sucked. Hope this helps.
I bought Wide Awake and can't get enough of it....I've got Lifted too and really like it....this is really one of the shows that I am looking forward to the most...I've just got to get my buddies to stick around...fortunately he is sandwiched between Ben Folds (a favorite of mine and one of the other guys I'm going with) and Death Cab (a favorite of the third guy)....so hopefully they will stick around.
Oh, the choices! After Ben Folds, I'm gonna head over to G. Love, but at some point I wanna get back to Bright Eyes... too many acts, only one Kevin! Such is the dilemma of the bonnaroo-goer...
i'm thinking there's a great chance of jim joining him for that one...
Yeah...what is it with Conor and those pretentious-ass intros? I swear it would 1000 times easier to turn friends on to his music if it weren't for that crap!
also hoping for "At The Bottom of Everything" with Jim James guesting.
I promise you, that if it's possible...it'll happen. Last year Jim made it out to M. Ward's set for the one track that he guested on and was reportedly wandering around at various other sets. Like I mentioned in another thread, he was just standing there, with no attention being drawn, at the Joanna Newsom show and I was able to just walk up, shake his hand, and take a picture with him. I'm sure there will be guests for Conor and a small army (Andrew Bird?) of guests for MMJ's set.

All his cd's that i've heard are great. Fevers and Mirrors is the best, imo. But its pretty sad. Digital Ash is probably the one I listen to more. They are way different though... but with good lyrics throughout.
I can't get Wide Awake to burn properly into iTunes? Has anyone else had this same problem? The only other CD that I totally can't get to burn is Kings of Leon Aha Shake Heartbreak.
Right now I just listen to them in my car, but it would be great to get them into the iPod.
Mine went into iTunes just fine, along with aha shake heartbreak, but they do make some CD's now that aren't compatible with iTunes. I couldn't get the new My Morning Jacket in there. It sucks. You might have to buy or borrow a different copy to get it to work.

The kings of Leon CD has copy protection. You need to rip with the built in player. I did find that if you turn off auto-play within your operating system you can rip things fine within itunes. I did this with the new BRMC album and the Kings Of Leon album. The reason why you can't rip with iTunes is because the copy protection prevents you from doing it on purpose. It's kinda the point.
Long story short, turn off autoplay and chances are you can rip fine with itunes because the copy protection software doesnt load.

i've never seen bright eyes live, but i love the music. Fevers and mirrors is probably my favorite cd, but I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning is really good too
i can't wait for bonnaroo. Ben Folds -> Bright Eyes is gonna be sweet.
for live shows, does connor usually have a backing band with him?
Yeah, I know that the KOL disc has the special protection, but I tried to follow their steps to get it in iTunes but with no luck. I just could never get the BE disc to work. I found that sometimes if I used my DVD drive instead of my CD drive to copy from that it worked better (or vice-versa)...but I tried both on both of these with no luck. We got a laptop a few months back. Maybe I should try it on there and just move it over if I get it to work. Oh well, who knows what the problem is.
BTW, I have MMJ with no problems on mine....weird.
By the way....I run every morning (although I'm giving it a break for Bonnaroo!!!) before work and have been trying to listen to some Bonnaroo artists most mornings....LIFTED is NOT the best workout CD....I really like it but it just wasn't cutting it on the treadmill!
