Bright Eyes vs. Cat Power and Atmosphere vs. Sonic Youth are my only real conflicts, so I am stoked.
I'm not too worried about the late night conflicts, since the sets are so long. I had never heard of Umphreys and Disco until I started reading the 'roo boards, but I am now officially excited to check out thier late-night set. Do they always do some kind of Beatle's arrangement in thier set? Sounds pretty dope to me.
What about 3 1/2 hours of Tom Petty? Seems strange that his set is an hour longer than Radiohead and Phil Lesh. I definitely wouldn't complain if he played that long, but it sure seems like a great slot to throw Pearl Jam into the mix.

There are still spots to fill up on the solar stage according to this schedule we are looking at. More additions? Oh and everyone can stop looking at that link at the beginning of this thread. The schedule is on Roo's website under the artist section.

hahahha delicate elegance. I'm not tellin ya'll not to go see death cab. I'd be happy if half the festival went there instead of o'head. More room for me to dance. Trey, Les, and Copeland are some of the best musicians out there today. And most people i know that are into death cab dig The Police. So even in that music genre stewart copeland (The Police's drummer) is highly regarded and respected.

It might be really hard to follow a schedule to the dot. You never know when a band's show might come up short to your expectations giving you the chance to run over and see a band playing at the same time that you wouldnt have gotten the chance to see otherwise.
im mostly inot seeing a whole set. i hat to jump around catching bits and pieces. but i do hav a couple of bands that if they arent really rippin it up i might get to another show early. the moe bonnie raitt situation comes to mind. if moes isnt really getting it on then ill hit up bonnie. shes going to be at commongrounds festival near me so i can just cathc her there if i need to

Whoa, stuart copeland is one of the best musicians out there today? Maybe if today meant 20 years ago. He's not really been in the music biz for years, and has admitted himself that his drumming skills aren't par with todays drummers, that the small muscles in his wrists aren't up to it anymore. I agree death cab is overrated, there are many indie bands who did what they try 10x better beforehand and havent gotten popular (BTS anyone?), but don't overexaggerate Oysterhead either... it remains to be seen how they are live.
World Party / Andrew Bird & Ben Folds / Seu Jorge / Donavon Frankenreiter
There are a few others but I can suss them out pretty well based on favorites/likelihood I'll see them other places and such. But these two conflicts bother the sh_t out of me.
I JUST CAN'T DECIDE, MMW OR BECK?!?!?!?!??! AHHHHHH
i hear ya! thats a hard one. after hearing about beck and his not working gameboy show im leaning a little towards mmw. i know ill get a full set of dancing and jamming. with beck you might get half the show doing some gimmicky thing noone cares about. i hope he just plays and dosent get all goofy. even so its a super tough call

Have you seen the Claypool DVD? Oysterheads showing on there makes me difficult to believe i WON'T have a great time.

I'm definitely more of an MMW fan, but I've never seen Beck. And its also a lot harder to see Beck shows, at least for me seeing as I live in the Wood bros home town.

bohemianboy - Oysterhead is definitely a great live show. I don't know what these characters are talking about. I just think its funny that people would pass up a one-time show to see a band that is touring all summer and will keep on touring until the next trendy band that sounds like them comes around.

Oysterhead was what made me definately decide to go to 'Roo. I dont know DCFC so i can't really say a whole bunch about them, but from what I gather they seem to be a bit more trendy (not that that's inherently bad.) Seems to me that the audiences are probably not too overlapping, which could be why they put them at the same time. Anything Claypool is sort of an aquired taste, and his performances help aquire that taste.
oysterhead is the only claypool i listne to constantly. i can get into the rest of it but really only listen to it live. it just dosent do it for me enough to put it on and listen to it outside fo a live performance. oysterhead isa daily play for me. i cant get enough of it. cant wait for the show!
