Only one problem... and I can't believe this is the case... MMW vs. Beck (and Biscuits at Sonic Stage and Blues Traveler taboot).... I've somehow never managed to see MMW as every time they come around I leave, or some shit like that and they are an act I really really wanted to see at Roo... but I don't know how I can pass up Beck (haven't seen him either)... and Blues Traveler was easily in my top 10 as well (haven't seen them at all either)... and Bisco is probably my second favorite band at Roo so I would love to get to see them at the sonic stage up close and personal (although I met the guys after the last show at a post-party so missing that is no big deal)
BUT MMW vs. Beck!!!! Damnit Damnit Damnit... thats 2 of my top 4 at the same exact time

plus... I can't believe no more additions?
Yeah, no more additions is very sad, but seeing how im already overwhelmed with the fact that 4 of my top 10 bands are all playing at teh same time, maybe no additions is better.
and let me just say i am really excited about the start off on thursday night ... i'm getting right on line for the first show at the comedy tent followed then heading to matt costa.... funny followed by mellow sounds good!!
The only problem that i see is the Biscuits are playing in the freaking Comedy TENT!!!
How big is this thing? Not as big as the other tents?
help
it's pretty big i think but i was wondering about that too... it doesn't make much sense since the comedy tent is closed and air conditioned unlike all the other tents... im thinking maybe its just a mix up error since the schedule is not "official" yet?
notice the upright citizens brigate moves to the other tent on saturday night as well, while balkan/bindlestiff/dresden dolls is in the comedy then.... i'm thinking it has to be a mistake.... (?)
ok he must be looking at what i saw... if you click on the link for the PRINTABLE GRID (which i printed right away) it has a couple bands playing in the COMEDY tent late night.... so its wierd...
edit: yeah i just checked again, its only on the printable grid, so it's just gotta be an error.

Yep, i was jsut about to say that. Looks like they need to fix some things up before they "release" the schedule
So does this kill any remaining shreds of hope for artist additions?
I have an idea... PUT BECK LATE NITE SATURDAY! it would recessitate the weak saturday late nite, and help that terrible beck/les/cypress/MMW/blues traveler conflict

Saturday afternoon has some conflicts for me Mike Gordon, G. Love, Cat Power and Bright Eyes all at the same time. Then Oysterhead at the same time as Robert Randolph and Nickle Creek. Choices to be made?

yeah... i was so excited to see nickel creek for the first time, i love their stuff... but i've also never seen death cab, and was really hoping to hear them do some postal service stuff... so i dont know which i am going to go to... probably nickel creek, and end up not wanting to leave and only seeing 15 min of death cab...
oh but i am thanking my lucky stars that no one i really want to see conflicts with mike doughty either at this tent or on the sonic stage... he was my number 1 artist to see this year so i really shouldn't complain... i am in heaven

And what's with the Lewis Black times? He's overlapping with so many good acts. Do I sacrifice Atmosphere or Rusted Root? I've seen both before, and both are excellent.

I'm happy about SY following Malkmus on Sunday. That makes sense.
I don't have too many beefs other than Saturday evening. There's no way I'm missing Beck, and I want to secure a good spot for Radiohead anyway, so I'll have to miss Cypress, Les, and MMW....all groups I haven't seen before and was looking forward to.

I feel you on the conflict, it really sucks but.... Weak Saturday late night?!?!?!?!?!?! Dr. John the night tripper along with two amazing new orleans funk, jazz, brass acts. Plus looking at the bands playing saturday and maybe bands playing sunday that are showing up early, there are so many possibilities for superjam artists. And way late night sasha trance
I can't miss Lewis Black, I'm thinking I'm gonna see him Sunday night... I don't mind missing those conflicting bands - I'd rather see the ones on Saturday - and I'm thinking (and hoping) I wont have to get there that early to get in (I want to see stephen malkmus right before) since it's sunday night and lots of people are gone already....
man. daytime oysterhead blows. and nobody has made mention of bill frisell and buddy guy playing the same time. what a bungle that is. whoever came up with that is smoking rock. saturday night is great!!! i am actually excited about it. i was hoping that id get to see the night tripper show and know i know i will. i hope the suprejam isnt anything too great to miss. dr john doing a night tripper show is another once in a life time oppurtunity. probably. oysterhead and night tripper in 1 weekend. im going to lose my mind!!!!!
i dont know how they got beck, cypresshill, les, blues traveler and mmw at the same time. that is crueal and unuusual punishment.
toubab krewe vs. moonshine still is another toughy
some other tough calls are gordo vs. ben folds. im definetly going to folds but i wanted to catch g oro and ramble dove ... oh well. i really really wanted to see lyrics born. but theres no way ill miss part of the umph biscxo show for him i will have to leave shooter jennings early to catch all of the codetalkers i cant believe bonnie raitt isnt on the main stage. and of course the worst of the worst...... how could they put death cab up against oysterhead!!! thats such a tough one
all in all im excited as hell. a few dissapointments though.. i guess thats par for the course though
my morning jacket (high personal priority) vs. common et. al (high personal priority) vs. the disco biscuits/umphrey's mcgee set (which has been so very highly and widely recommended).
and of course the worst of the worst...... how could they put death cab up against oysterhead!!! thats such a tough one
i am upset about that! but i guess i'm an anomaly... i'm gonna try to catch a little bit of oysterhead before nickel creek... then head over to death cab... yikes too much
