I'm very impressed with the lineup so far! There's a lot of old favorites of mine listed already; Bonnie Raitt - great live, even if you're not huge on her My Morning Jacket - getting to be a 'roo tradition Steel Pulse - good reggae band, been hoping to see them live Rusted Root - another great live act Robinella - Knoxville area singer, highly recommended, Pasty Cline-like I'm not a huge "jam band" fan, but I could see how one would be disappointed some on that front. The presumed headliners are interesting, wouldn't mind catching Beck and Petty, haven't gotten into Radiohead but they should be a big draw. But I agree w/ whoever said that the smaller stages are going to be the places to be.
I counted 63 on the Bonnaroo website, but I may be off. Either way, yeah...that is more than announced initially last year. Hopefully there will be a few great additions (the Duo...Ben Harper) instead of just a bunch of filler. Bonnaroo never has been a festival of filler bands though.
As it looks right now Radiohead is Friday night(I would think Saturday night, which might be) Petty is Sat and Phil Lesh said on his site they are closing Roo on Sunday.
Most bands haven't updated their sites yet with the Bonnaroo listing. Phil's site was on the ball though. I think it is wierd that Bobby didn't get a headlining spot last year and it looks like Phil will get one this year. Personally I like Phil's stuff better but... is his band that much better? I'm not sure about that. I like the experimentation with Phil's band, but Bobby brings it a lot harder for the most part and the lack of improv makes for a much tighter band. I guess Ratdog may have headlined last year if it were not for Panic maybe. What do I know anyway?
Why do you guys think that Radiohead is headlining on Friday night? I am glad that we already know that Lesh is headlining on Sunday though. I would think that Radiohead would get the Saturday night spot, with Petty on Friday.
