It really is a damn good group. Copeland's ska-infused struts remind me a lot of Fishman at times, but he is still very different. He's an easy fit w/ Trey, and Les kicks a$$ with anyone he plays with.
VERY danceable, VERY psychedelic. OCCASIONALLY psychotic. FUN FUN FUN.

yeah oysterhead is amazing. the musis is incrediblew. some catchy, crazy, phychadelic riffs. and it is three fo the greatest musicians ever, playing together!!!
yeah - some bands you just can't understand without being there live. Oysterhead is one of them - it's just so hard to listen to their album and get that they'll be one of the top acts to see. But they should be condsidered a can't miss group - and a rare experience. Make sure to be there -

Yeah i agree with everything said above, part of their popularity obviously has to do with the fact that they're a band made up of HUGE names, but they also back it with solid, creative and original material...
The big kicker is how rare it is for ANYONE to have a chance to see these guys perform live...
yep i agree... i wouldnt miss it for anyhting in the world other then family obligations or a phish reunion show at the same time..... which i would say isnt very likely, treys amazing but i doubt he could pull that off

I agree, at first the album is a little weird...I love phish but I'm not a huge fan of primus and the album seemed more primusy than phishy but there's a lot of really fun stuff in there, for example the man in the background of "the army's on ecstacy" reading the lyrics over in japanese really tripped me out the first time I realized it was there. It's kind of like a flaming lips album, hard to understand the first few times around but after the first 5 listens or so you'll love it. I'd recommend downloading the oysterhead show off: stash.nugs.net/stash.asp does anyone have URLs for other oysterhead shows?
