We were supposed to skip this year. You know, actually be responsible and pay some bills, etc. Then came the line-up announcment. I know some folks have been less than happy, but my wife called me and said we're going. Guess I'll see y'all there! HEY FREEDOMOFMUSIC!!!! We'll look ya up!
VIP is the only way to go. Husband and I pay the extra $$$ and our kids only want to stay with the great unwashed. Not only do we get showers and great access to stages, the kids aren't allowed in so we also get some P&Q.
Hahaha...karma for an awesome post.
Fourth year going, second year going VIP...we're meeting up and camping with the guys who camped next to us last year...that's probably one of my favorite things about Bonnaroo. Meeting cool neighbors and coming back the next year and hanging out with them again.
Hey guys - my wife and I are going VIP (first timers at the 'Roo). We're flying into Nashville and are planning on taking the shuttle from the airport and meet up with our friends there who are driving the RV.
Anyone know how the whole shuttle thing works? How/when do we get our VIP wristbands and do they drop us off close to teh VIP area?
Can someone explain the VIP ticketing system? The tickets MUST be bought ONLY in pairs? We will be 5 in an RV - 2 adults and 3 teenagers. How do we work that ticket angle? I can understand the principle of requiring every person to have a ticket, but am I misunderstanding the concepts of pairs only?

You understand that correctly. The are only sold in pairs (sets of 2) In addition to that you can only order 1 pair.

You can come camp by us...It should be highly entertaining, my gf is a Roo virgin.
Thanks for the offer, I will keep it in mind. I might have someone joining me after all.
Maybe someone can shed some light on this....
I will be arriving on Thursday morning and the person that might be using my 2nd VIP ticket won't be in the area until late Friday or early Saturday.
My questions are:
1- How does she get her wristband/access to the VIP area?
2- Where would she park her car and would she have to pay extra to do so?
I'm hoping that it won't be an issue as it could make-or-break the deal.
She's going to need to have her ticket in hand when she arrives. She might be picking up her stuff at the hotel that all VIPers get their wristbands and car stickers and stuff. There isn't a good place to leave your car all weekend, but you can probably buy a second vehicle pass for her car. There will probably be some sort of hassle one way or another, but it will be temporary. I would encourage her to try to adjust her schedule so she can get there on time.

it happened that another infooroo'er from austin actually lives in my apt complex(crazy small world!!). i haven't spoken to her about it, but she did ask if i'd ever been VIP, and i haven't.
i just got done doing the math for everything, and if she's willing to pay for it, i'm in. would be nice to know where some of you fellow infooroo'ers will be, though!

When will they announce the VIP hotel packages and prices?
if youre planning on staying in a hotel, why in the world would you spend the extra money for VIP?
i can't imagine not wanting to stay AT the farm if you're going to bonnaroo. besides the shower thing(which you get with VIP) i doubt anyone could convince me that getting a hotel and commuting every day would be worth it

So do you have to buy an VIP pass when you buy VIP tix, or can you buy it later if they're available? I'm not 100% I'm going with an RV. Do people usually sell them individually on Ebay, or if I bought one and decided not to take an RV would I be able to sell it?

Here's my experience from last year: we booked an RV after we had bought our tickets. Had to scramble to find an RV pass, and did pretty late in the game. Even later in the game, the RV fell through, and I tried to help out a stranger by using the RV pass for his car, but the staff wouldn't do it. I had to just throw it away.
My wife and I will be kickin' back in VIP again this year. We were thinking about renting an RV, as well, but that's proven itself to be prohibitively expensive.

Was that picture taken during Wings for Marie last year?
Hmm... you know... I'm actually not sure what song was playing when I took it, but it was taken during their set at last year's Bonnaroo. Karma to you for knowing it's Tool though!
We are planning on going VIP this year, three of us, did I read correctly that only one pair can be purchased at a time? I was planning on picking up both pairs on saturday but will need to make other arrangements if that is the case.

Normally I go down with a group of either 4 or 6 of us to VIP, but this year it is looking like possibly only 3 of us. I'm reading a lot of posts where others are stuck with an odd number of people. Maybe we should help each other out and start a thread to match up all us uneven groups and split pairs of VIP tickets. Anyone else think its a good idea and perhaps work out?

Right. One pair per order. Although, I'm not sure how they could stop you from making two consecutive orders. I guess they could compare addresses, etc. Dunno. Somehow, I doubt they'd bother. I think the idea is that everyone gets a first shot at a pair, but if you want more, you have to go through the process all over again. You take your chances that you won't be able to get them later. Which, with VIP isn't really an issue. No risk of sellout on day 1. But, enlisting someone else to order the second set, just in case, might be the answer.
This may be a stupid question, but I am new to the VIP thing (3rd Roo overall) and can't figure something out. I understand that I have to buy in pairs but do you also have to check in in that same pair? Or if I find someone to split with on this board and they mail me my half of a VIP pair, could I just go check in with my even number of fellow VIP-ers?

One pair per order means 'one pair per credit card', really, not just one per household. You just won't be able to get 2 pair on the same charge.
