I was lying in a burned out basement With the full moon in my eyes. I was hoping for replacement When the sun burst thru the sky. There was a band playing in my head And I felt like getting high.
So I just found these photos from last year, they are the picture directions I sent to my friend who flew in and had to try to find our campsite! My lovely wife posing in the photos, and my favorite part is the umbrella that I didn't notice until I looked at the pictures!
did your friend end up finding your camp through the pics?
Unfortunately no, he got nervous he had walked to far, and called and had me meet him. He still had about a 10 min walk up the road before he found me. It was his first Bonnaroo, and the grand size of things hadn't fully settled in...

Pondo, last year me and Frank saw you and yelled "Hey Pondo". You turned, we smiled, you didn't see us, we walked on. Hopefully this year we can meet face to face.
Thanks sugar! Uncle Tupelo, he's a '71. He had quite a summer last year, from Ohio to Tenn., then Ohio to MA for Solid Sound, and then local fests. He's taking a break from Roo this year.

Aww...are you sure Uncle Tupelo doesn't just need a little love? Roo is going to miss him.

Man, setting up camp at Roo seems like lots more work than at any Belgian festival. Obviously because of the heat at Roo, and the need for lots of shade.
Also in Belgium it's unthinkable that you would be able to park your car next to your tent. Parking and camping is always strictly separated over here.
If you can rig some tiki lights up in there, and maybe some kind of cherub fountain out front, then almost automatically, you've got a Featured Listing in the "Parade of Homes".
(edit - As sweet as the structure appears, I'd still bring a coupla blue kingsize bedsheets to zip-tie up in the east-facing corner of the frame, back where your pup-tent might be. Could help with sleeping, come sunrise....)

will be putting up about 33 ft. of blue LED solar powered rope lighting and definitely adding extra protection on the south east-ish sides. Why was it that you specified the "blue" sheets?
Doesn't really have to be blue -- just something that's kinda midway between white and black. White doesn't give much relief from the sun, and black would likely absorb/hold too much heat. A medium shade of green or grey would be just as suitable, probably.
Thanks! Don't know if you noticed - our white ez-up in '11 is the same as your new one. It has so far been to 'roo, another smaller fest, and has served as sign-in/info spot for two disc golf tournaments. No complaints.

Not sure if this is the right thread, buuuut... So, I've done tent only every year that I've went, but this year I'll be going with the fiance and she wants to stay close to the car...
My question is, should there be enough room for two 10x10 EZ-Ups? Or is that pushing it?

I have car camped twice. Last year I only has room for a 10x10 with some room to spare but not for 2. - The problem was I was in the second row of cars to share the space between, and the car in front had already spread pretty big. The first year we were by a large group and they had several cars and left us plenty of room we could have had three 10x10s. My experence is; it is hit or miss.

you should have every right to set up two ten by tens...don't be afraid to work with your neighbors to give EVERYBODY a fair amount of room...most people at roo will be happy to arrange their camp a little to give you needed room...just mention it. give em a beer or something for being so kind ya know
The sooner you setup camp, usually the more room you have. But like hippiechicksrule said, talk with your neighbors too. Especially if they are friendly and don't have an EZ-Up of their own let them hang out.

In my group everyone has a specific job during the set up process. The one girl that goes with us, walks around and gives our neighbors beers and water in exchange for working with us. Last year she started handing out shots. It was Thursday. At 1pm. All of our neighbors and us had a fairly good buzz going by 4pm.
This may be a stupid question, but has anyone ever painted/dyed a EZ Up canopy? I have a white one I brought last year that is over 12 yrs old, & I figured if it was darker it would be better. Any advice?
This was my site last year, which was my 1st trip to Bonnaroo! We had awesome camp mates that we came in with, so we were able to attach tarps & sheets to their EZ Up for more room. We had 2 tents under my big EZ Up, as well as a camp shower I used everyday.
