So I (very sadly) cannot make it to Bonnaroo this year and just saw the latest email update (sent about 5 minutes ago) about the XM Radio Bonnaroo broadcast. Now, I know that they have done this in the past but since I have been at the 'roo I haven't had much of an interest (or need) in thinking about it....so here's my question....
Does anyone here have XM Radio who IS NOT going to the festival?
Leading into, does anyone who can answer the above question with a "yes" ALSO have the ability to record the XM radio in some sort of digital fashion (i.e., no tape recorder or to vinyl)?
Now, I know that this is probably a pretty hefty thing to get all on tape but I just wanted to throw it out there because I would love to check out the broadcast.
Does anyone have the inclination for this? I would do it if I could and would share it with the world!
I have been pondering getting satellite radio for a while now....maybe now I should just jump in....
Let me know your thoughts! I really appreciate it! ;D
You can try out xm online for free with just your e-mail address. Coincidentally this is a three-day trial. There are some programs on the internet that let you record digital files straight from your sound card. The dBpowerAMP power pack has it included, (http://www.dbpoweramp.com/) but i'm sure if you look hard enough you can find a free one somewhere. Actually i think the power pack has a trial period of like a month anyway. Worth a shot.
Did you record any of it. I'm wondering what all they played.
i wanted to know the same thing......i originally thought it was going to be live feeds but then we put it on sunday and they were playing stuff from friday and saturday.....
i didn't have a chance as i got caught up in portland, maine seeing moe. and playing in the sunshine.
however, from the little bit that i heard, all i was able to check out was a bunch of music by artists playing bonnaroo....nothing actually from this year.
a little dissapointing. sorry i wasn't able to provide anything else.
i did find a flac version of the NMAS sonic stage set up on bt.etree.org but thats about it. i'll let you know if i can track anything else of interest down.
Since I was unable to attend Bonnaroo this year, I coped by listening to XM. They played some live feed stuff and then they played some stuff from previous days (like on Saturday they played a few shows from Friday). I heard Herbie Hancock's performance, as well as two live feed songs from Joss Stone. I also caught Ozomatli's performance, the Gourds, and Old Crow Medicine Show. I thought they were gonna play the performances from the Sonic Stage, so I set day around listening for the Duo when they were scheduled, but to my dismay the Sonic Stage performances were aired sporadically. Did anyone catch the Duo's sonic stage performance?
