I am bringing a trailer and of course will be in the RV section. I read about 1.5kw or less generator in size on roos website is allowed. I have access to a 5500 watt portable gas generator which actually is not that big in size, and plan on bringing that to power my trailer. Do you think this will be a problem? Any experience with this? Thanks!

It depends on what kind of generator...Is it the super quiet RV kind of generator or is it the contractors Lowes or Home Depot kind of generator? There is a huge difference in exhaust and noise generated by them....If it is really loud and spits out fumes and exhaust I sure as hell wouldn't want to be your neighbor
Last year my friends went in a pop up tent trailer and had one of those big generators next to them....They couldn't get any sleep and got REALLY sick off the fumes and almost passed out from their neighbors set up. There is a good reason why they put those size requirements on there. I am sure you could probably sneak it in but you might want to start it before you leave and run it for awhile and decide if it is cool or not...You don't want to be unpopular or at worst make someone really sick
Speaking of neighbors... Dunedin... I am in St. Pete. It is my inlaws and it has never been run, but I will definately start it first. It is a troybuilt 5500. I do not think a 1.5 will run an AC unit.

I was born & raised in St. Pete and haved lived in Dunedin for about 10 years. Love it here, they keep talking about the heat on this forum at Roo but it was only in the 80's last year...ha ha..that's not freakin' hot. We know hot
Knoxville was really cool about not running it all night but not everyone is so kind. We just bought 2 of the super quiet Hondas w/ a parallel kit that will run our air because we do alot of dry camping. But you will need something pretty big to run air in your RV. Just run it and you will know if it is too loud & obnoxious. If you do bring it, just make sure to keep the exhaust away from everyone if possible and it should be cool.
