This will be my first Roo. I'm excited...to say the least...but I have questions of course...like most new-rooers. I want to bring my video camera and digital camera. I'm worried about the heat...I'm worried about them being stolen....and the legality of it all. I'm going to keep them on me most of the time....in a handy little camera bag....but is that realistic? I want to bring home my memories in video and picture form...I'm just not totally sure if it's the best thing to do....and I haven't really seen any other thread that discusses this. Any advice from the experienced Bonnarooers will be much appreciated. I live in the middle of nowhere...Tennessee....and this message board has SAVED me from having what may have been a horrible Roo experience....So thanks for spreading the wisdom!
As for your digital camera, non-professional cameras ("small hand held cameras without additional lenses") are fine. The only issue might be keeping it dry in case of rain. If your camera bag will be protective enough, that shouldn't be a problem.
I usually bring disposables, but then I never get my pictures developed, so this year, I'm bringing my digital.
i put everything in ziplocs that i dont want to get wet. my camera, phone, schedule/roo map, and toilet paper. its cheap and it protects everything. as long as you remember to put it back into the ziploc which can be hard to do. and it can be difficult to seal a ziploc while in certain mental states.
Some of the Ziplocks now have a little slider to close it up, instead of having to press two seams together. The sliders rule if you're having hand/eye coordination problems.
