I was just wondering if Wal-Mart is open 24 hrs in Manchester. Because I'm flying in I need to be able to pickup some extra supplies. I plan on being in Manchester around 2 AM on Thursday.
I don't know the answer to your question, but I have a supplemental question. For people who need such things but won't shop at Walmart, is there another place to get them nearby?
I understand; I've had to go there a couple of times since I officially stopped shopping there. I was just curious about if there is an alternative in Manchester.

Its too bad we're stuck relying on big box companies like walmart for even basic supplies simply because there arent enough alternatives(We all know why). I went to buy some typical rite aid/walmart stuff downtown and i was racking my brain to think of an alternative and the truth is there really isnt one, even here where private business and locally owned healthfood stores etc are common its still tricky to find eveything on your list without hitting up the corporate bloodsuckers. Oh yah and FORGET finding everything under one roof... I do my best to watch where my dollar goes, and yes sometimes i get drunk and waste money at 7-11, yes i shop at rite aid sometime even if i dont absolutely have to, i dont buy 100% organic everything but like alot of people these days im starting to think more about where my dollar goes and what happens as a result...
In case you don't find an alternative (I don't know the area either) to answer your original question - I believe it is one of those 24 hour super walmarts, because last year we stopped in there before 5 am, not realizing that alcohol would not be sold at that hour, but it was open (and PACKED with bonnarooers).
If you have to stop at Wal-Mart don't leave it until then to pick up something important. Just pick up little things. When I stopped there in '03 and '04 almost everything was sold out already, and I didn't get there late by any means. Around 1 or 2 pm both years. In '03 we planned on buying a cooler there and they were sold out. It sucked, we had to use an ice bucket the entire weekend. It didn't keep things cold for very long.
Food & Stuff Manchester's Walmart is open 24hrs a day for all your shopping needs. If you only need groceries here are some possible alternatives (Bi-Lo, Food Lion, Sav-A-Lot are sure bets. I'm not positive about some of those others): maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&q=grocery+near+manchester,+tn&ll=35.48164,-86.088524&spn=0.135031,0.230713 (link is messed up, copy & paste in browser)
Alchohol All stores stop selling beer at 3am and don't begin selling again till 8am. On Sunday, beer can't be sold until after noon. Liquor stores are closed on Sunday, but TN state law allows Beans Creek Winery (more info on that place to come) to open at 1pm on Sundays(if they keep regular hours during Bonnaroo).

Walmart is open 24/7 and a lot of people arrive in Manchester early and camp out around the Walmart lot...sometimes for a week. There are other stores around there....a small market right near walmart that doesn't jack up their prices.
