I have never had that issue with people stealing my camelbak. If it isn't on my back then it is being used as a pillow when I take a nap inbetween shows.
I agree. I've taken the same one with me the past four years and I don't know anyone who has had one stolen (we had some smokes and a bottle of Crown Royal stolen once, but leaving those out is asking for it). And they come in all sizes, so you need not buy a tiny one if you want to haul your shit around with you. Or you can just get a bladder and hose and add them to your backpack of choice.
I hate to recommend Walmart for anything, but I was in no hurry the last time I was there and got to wandering, and noticed that they had a pretty nice looking Coleman and one that was presumably a house brand. I think they were both around $40 and were a mediumish size, with multiple pockets, chest straps, comfy looking backs, and space for whatever you need, but not huge. I'll probably keep using my 7-8 year-old High Sierra, but finding myself with a little extra cash might convince me to buy a new pack this year. I wish I had pulled the trigger on one of the Ultimate Direction packs that somebody here pointed out on Woot, they were a steal.
Just checked on this thread as I was putting together my packing list. I only had to go back one page to find my first ever INFOROO post asking about the size of our tent. It worked just fine, and we had a sweet location in Marty McFly.

Kind of a random tip for the chubbies...
I really struggle with "chub rub", chaffing, whatever you want to call it. Last year was my first Roo and aside from my goal of having a mind-blowing experience, I also wanted to make it a point to not get sunburned or suffer from chaffing.
Anyway, long story short, my cousin sales "adult novelties" and her company has this stuff called "Between the Sheets", it's a powder spray that's supposed to make your sheets feeling like satin but she recommend that I spray it on the areas I chaffed and I did, a couple sprays every so often and viola, no chub rub plus it smells nice!

We usually wear bike shorts under our dresses to prevent chaffing and also you don't have to worry about how you sit or lay down. This year we bought some stuff called BODY it's supposed to be a body glide to help with chaffing as well. So we will see! Another thing I use every year is a Frogg togg towel. I haven't needed it as much the last two years since it hasn't been as hot but they do help to keep you cool!
Runs 8 D batteries. I know one of these gives around 18 watts, by connecting them in series i'm assuming they still have the 18 watt draw and not a 144 watt draw?
I'm wanting to run it off a solar panel and.... yeah.
Any help is appreciated
Yeah, same wattage. 8 D batteries = 12 volts. I have a 30 watt (kind of big) solar panel that I take to Roo. I use it to charge a (effing heavy) deep-cycle marine battery. Makes it easy to run two O2 cool fans and keep everyone's cell phone charged all week. :-)
