I'm going to be travelling from the NYC area with at least two other cars, and then meeting up with some folks from New Mexico in another car once we get there. It would be pretty sweet if we could all park together, have a nice big space and not have to worry about finding each other throughout the weekend.
But how likely is it that we're going to be able to do this? And what would be the best way to go about it?
I'm wondering if we're going to be able to survive the 21 hour waits to enter the site together. Does anyone suggest a meeting place? Inside the venue, a couple of miles outside of Manchester and then just stay behind each other?

From what I've heard, a lot of people tend to meet up in the wal-mart parking lot. Now how to get there is beyond me, and I'd imagine a LOT of people will be there. Perhaps finding a place somewhere out of town would work better?

Last year we met at a rest stop just off the highway. Your road map will tell you where they all are. Then just follow each other and stay together. We brought three vehicles in together last year with absolutely no problems.
Just make sure, when you're waiting in traffic to get in, to drive like New Yorkers: tailgate each other really close (what the hell, you're going a mile an hour at the fastest) and don't be nice hippies and let people cut in front of you. No matter what.
The other thing is, STAY IN LINE. Last year the right lane was for the exit, the left for thru traffic. We saw tons and tons of people try to get clever and sneak up and budge into line. The Tennesee State Police nipped that in the bud, as it would invariably screw up the thru traffic. Be patient. Wait your turn. You'll get there quicker in the end.

yeah New Yorkers! My lot are all nyc drivers, and the aggressive driving skills definitely come in handy.
Just make sure that you meet before you get on line, like at the wal-mart or at a diner or rest stop or something, and that you get in line together and drive in together. That's really the only way you'll end up camped together.
