Surprises: The National as my top AOTD for sure. Kanye being so high in my AOTD is a little surprising too. Thought The Beatles would've been higher and Chet Faker would've been on the list. I also apparently spent 17 hours listening to James Blake this year and "discovered 657 new artists" (which I'm guessing are just "new" artists that came up on random playlists). Also surprised that more reggaeton didn't make it into my top 5 (3 songs did round out the top 10 though)
I've been very actively using Spotify since 2012, so this is a pretty cool snapshot of what I listen to. I really liked the top song/artist by year that they had in the little presentation thingy.
I think my favorite part is when it said “You listened to artists from 70 countries this year!” and then cited Ariana Grande from the United States and Carly Rae Jepsen from Canada as two diverse examples.
Lol, it gave me J Balvin from Colombia & Nicky Jam from Puerto Rico as 2 of my examples... it didn't even change the song when it switched locations 😂😂

Same here. I listened to a TON of Analog Africa, Mdou Moctar, and Tinariwen albums this year and was given Burna Boy as my African artist. Makes sense but still kinda funny. No mention whatsoever of Haruomi Hosono, Kikagaku Moyo, Takuya Kuroda or any number of other Japanese artists either.

it disappeared already, but this morning i looked at my songs of the decade for myself, and i had only actually listened to maybe 10 of them. not sure where that algorithm went wrong, especially cause i never even listen to playlists
