Lead single "Armageddon’s Back in Town" from Drive-By Truckers' upcoming album, The Unraveling (out Jan. 31st), came out today.
The album title refers to the damage done to the country by the Trump Administration, according to the band. “The past three-and-a-half years were among the most tumultuous our country has ever seen,” co-founding member Patterson Hood remarked in a statement, “and the duality between the generally positive state of affairs within our band while watching so many things we care about being decimated and destroyed all around us informed the writing of this album to the core.”
One of my favorite ambient/drone/etc musicians Rafael Anton Irisarri will release "Una Presencia En La Brisa" with Leandro Fresco on January 6. You can hear the first single below:
February 2020 is shaping up to be an incredible month for new releases. Khruangbin, Tame Impala, Grimes, Klangstof, and Caribou all dropping albums in the shortest month of the year.

Just realized I hadn't shared Greg Dulli's first single from his new solo album, Random Desire, that will ALSO be coming out in February (out Feb. 21st on Royal Cream/BMG).
For fans of Afghan Whigs, Twilight Singers, and Dulli's previous solo works, you'll certainly dig "Pantomima"...Check it:
If you told me yesterday that Lingua Ignota and Dylan from Full of Hell had a band with one of the dudes from The Body, I would have told you that's the greatest album ever (unheard) and a crack induced dream.
Today they announced Sightless Pit which is Lingua Ignota and Dylan from Full of Hell with one of the dudes from The Body. I was right on both counts.
