I used to think republicans pulling the "What about Venezuela??" argument against Bernie was stupid and in bad faith. His campaign's need to say something positive about every piece of shit "leftist" leader in Latin America is making me rethink this.
If this is not a coup then the word coup has no meaning.
Kicking out an indigenous president for a little known senator who "brought Christianity back to the presidency" is just...not a good look
It's a big day for Louisiana. Hopefully we don't fuck this whole thing up. The most recent polls showed 2/3rds of white respondents choosing that idiot Rispone. Y'all toss a penny in a fountain for us.
On another note, it bums me out when I see the left eating itself again this 2020 election cycle. I hope we can get our shit together by this time next year.

I respect your opinion so please clarify the last statement for me?
Specifically in the last two days: 1) Clear evidence Butte is a shell game of finding what pocket to go into, and most of the media does not want to even touch his past as mayor and the police department. Thus he is definitely mid-centrist and also not principled about it. 2) Warren has a great plan, that by breaking it apart into pieces makes it ineffectual. Not that the plan doesn't have legs, but that it sincerely is NOT the same M4A bill or even a close variation to Sanders already proposed bill. Which actually does matter; proposing a bill to the Senate or House is a serious endeavor. 3) We all pretty much agree Biden is not the candidate we want, and criticizing his record is necessary. The Crime Bill matters. It matters that he nailed Anita Hill to a wall. It matters he's still against the use of busing and integration, while also not delivering any policy plans.
This Democratic primary has become heavily about what candidates who say we CAN do something and the other candidates who say.. woah woah woah watch yourself, you'd mess with the capital of my investors and upper middle class people. Even if that is not most of the population of the country. It's important to have these debates and not be full of shit about policy. I'm not going to be voting out of persona, I'm voting for a betterment to our nation.

My second statement is mostly coming from my currents emotions about today's governor race. Thankfully, my social feeds have been filled with friends (progressives) urging others to go out and vote. I still fear that others will stay home because Edwards is a centrist moderate and not liberal enough, opening the door for Rispone to win. And when i read through this thread, where honestly I go to daily for the majority of my political updates (thanks y'all), it's just been negative post after post lately, which brings up that fear again. I don't want us to lose today and I don't want us to lose next year. I'm just hoping we end up with a candidate that we can all truly stand with and rally behind.
"This is Scott an artist. Will you vote for Eric Dick for City Council? Early voting starts on Nov 27. He supports music & festivals like Freepress Summerfest"
City of New Orleans has apparently voted even more for Edwards than we did for President Obama. We brought that shit home. Trump will win the state in 2020 but fuck them all today.
Fuck yeah! I hate Edwards, but I don't know what I would have done if Rasputin won.
It comes down to his Catholic faith. I don’t agree with him on many issues but don’t hate him. But being determined to fight for a higher minimum wage (a shot at the Republican legislature) and also for making women’s pay equal to men’s. It’s the best we are going to get in the south at this point. Big finger for all the hate that came down from Washington.

All while fighting against a women's right to choose. He tried to enacted the second strictest abortion ban bill in the country. He calls cells dividing/fetuses unborn babies. Fuck that dude. He's only governor because he's basically a republican.

Yeah like I said I’m not about all his shit. My parents were hardcore Catholics too so I was raised from that side. I personally don’t agree with the pro-life stand. There was probably no difference among the candidates on that issue. But when you look at everything else, it’s night and day. I stand for Trumps wall vs let’s continue to run a budget surplus, fund education and particularly early childhood education, continue with Medicare expansion
Is there such a thing as an elected leader in the Deep South who will claim to be pro-choice? The very sad fact is that we have to cling to federal laws to save what little protections we have down here when it comes to reproductive rights, LGBTQ rights, and any type of gun laws. The only progressive pills our rural-ass neighbors/family will swallow is in the form of healthcare, education, and possibly allowing the blue island cities to be sanctuary cities and make their own city specific laws.

Blue island cities. I love that. That’s Nashville. A tiny spot of blue is a sea of red hickvilles.
Like I said I am glad he won, especially against a Dumpster that tried to use a national agenda to get elected instead of actually coming up with some policy. I just don't agree with JBE's pro-life, anti-LGBTQ+ stance. I don't care what your religiousness is, that isn't supposed to dictate how you Govern. Separation from Church and state was added by our founding fathers for a reason.

I'm drawing a blank here. Can you remind me what he's done that was anti-LGBTQ? The pro-life part is obvious
I've found articles about how he signed an executive order to grant equal workers rights to LGBTQ, and he stated that he thinks they should get the same adoption rights as heterosexual couples

You are right, I was confusing the issue. I didn't realize it was the Supreme Court siding with the Attorney General to shoot down the equal worker's rights. Doesn't make it better though. He is still working towards getting equality for some, while trying to take away women's rights. I know that no candidate is perfect, but the abortion issue is the one of the platforms that is the most important to me.
