Truevine seems to have this covered but I talked to one of Jaar's managers at Coachella 2017 and he said they realllly had to push him to play and to not expect it again. He didn't think he was a fit for Coachella and needed a shit ton of special clauses to play (e.g. he would only play if he didn't conflict against Radiohead, etc.)
Got the impression he won't play Coachella again, regardless of being on/off the grid.
He must view AAL as an entirely different project and show.
Too bad to hear he didn't think he fit in. One of the best sets of the weekend, easily, and I thought the crowd was decently sized and showed him a lot of love.

AAL got added to the FYF lineup late, in an attempt to save the festival. I got the impression he a) liked FYF, having played it multiple times before & b) got thrown a sizable check to agree to play

he got added like three days after the lineup was released.

nice, i'll definitely include this clause in my contract if ever asked to perform at Coachella.

I remember it being a bit later than that, and them pushing it pretty hard in IG posts and whatnot. But it's not super important
I know it’s not happening this year or maybe ever but Adele doing rolling in the Deep on the main stage would be epic.
If Adele ever tours again it won't be for another decade or so, when her kid is grown. But even then, there are other factors at play (stage fright + wanting a quiet life at home out of the spotlight).
It's feasible we haven't seen the last of her live, but I wouldn't expect much in the 2020s beyond maybe a song or two at the Grammys.

I think it’s totally happening one of these upcoming years. There are only so many bonafide headliners out there, Childish Gambinos don’t grow on trees (*knowing wink*)

Itll happen. Coachella is the perfect scenario for her. A week between performances, a la carte on whatever production she would want and tons of time to plan it. She said active touring is what she doesnt want to do again, apart from one offs and such. Theres only so many of those that are even possible which can create unforgettable performances.
I mean, maybe Paul T can convince her the way Emily Eavis did for glastonbury. Oddly enough, it involved Kanye. This is an excerpt from the book that just came out.
“ Kanye’s set also led directly to Adele agreeing to headline the following year. I’d been trying to persuade her, but I think she was unsure. She didn’t really need to do it: she was already playing stadiums, and with her it almost seems like the less she does, the bigger she gets. But I think that deep down she wanted to, as she’d been coming to Glastonbury since she was a little kid. I walked her on to the platform next to the stage just before Kanye came on, and we looked out at this huge crowd chanting his name. I said: “Are you ready for it? Come on. Next year?” And she looked at me with a twinkle in her eye and said: “I’m gonna do it.” It was such a brilliant moment.”
“ Childish Gambino’s set also led directly to Travis Scott agreeing to headline the following year. I’d been trying to persuade him, but I think he was unsure. But I think that deep down he wanted to, as he’d been coming to Coachella since he was a little kid. I walked him on to the platform next to the stage just before Bino came on, and we looked out at this huge crowd chanting his name. I said: “Are you ready for it? Come on. Next year?” And he looked at me with a twinkle in his eye and said: “I’m gonna do it.” It was such a brilliant moment.”
“MBV’s set also led directly to David Byrne agreeing to reunite the Talking Heads, though it took a bunch of years. I’d been trying to persuade him, but I think he was unsure. He didn’t really need to do it: he was doing his own tours, collaborating with people he liked. But I think that deep down he wanted to. I walked him on to the platform next to the stage and we watched MBV play, and we looked out at this huge crowd of Cure fans covering their ears as they suffered through MBV. I said: “Are you ready for it? That could be you bumming out whatever pop act I book to headline. Come on.” And he looked at me with a twinkle in his eye and said: “I’m gonna do it.” It was such a brilliant moment.”

Oh so you and Adele had a deep convo about her family and life plan?

After 15 months on the road and 18 months of 25 we are at the end. We have taken this tour across UK + Ireland, throughout Europe, all over America and I finally got to go to Australia and New Zealand too. Touring is a peculiar thing, it doesn't suit me particularly well. I'm a real homebody and I get so much joy in the small things. Plus I'm dramatic and have a terrible history of touring. Until now that is! I've done 119 shows and these last 4 will take me up to 123, it has been hard but an absolute thrill and pleasure to have done. I only ever did this tour for you and to hopefully have an impact on you the way that some of my favourite artist have had on me live. And I wanted my final shows to be in London because I don't know if I'll ever tour again and so I want my last time to be at home.
Thank you for coming, for all of your ridiculous love and kindness. I will remember all of this for the rest of my life.
I love you. Goodnight for now" Adele #Adele #Adelettes #AdeleLive2017
^^(emphasis mine)^^
She also shut down her touring company which made almost £150m during her last tour, which seems pretty telling that she won't be touring for the foreseeable future.
Adele won't tour but I'm certain she will do one offs. UK and Euro shows more likely than the states but a big fest like Coachella would be perfect for the rare show over the pond.

I know Charli XCX has been on a few mocks on here but has anybody talked about her band Nasty Cherry? They just released their first EP and have a show on Netflix. I can see them being one of the first bands in the mojave for the day or something.
