Wait, so OddFellows is in Brooklyn? Great. I'm seeing LCD there. I"m sure Brooklyn is small and I won't have any trouble finding this ice cream place. Right?

They apparently have two locations, the one in Brooklyn is not very close to Brooklyn Steel. Which dates(s) are you going?

I'll take this time to encourage anyone that is going to the Monday night show to meet up with me. It's my birthday and I'm gonna need all the dancing friends.
Also, let me know if you need any other recommendations regarding places to eat/drink.
I need the best pizza and burgers.
For pizza, my favorite place is Artichoke's Basille's, which have several locations throughout the city. I took many people with me there, and each one of them loved it.
I don't know many places for burger, the only one I like a lot is the one near my campus, Mel's Burger, which is located on the corner of Broadway & 110th Street. They have amazing burgers, and a great selection of beers.

I was too late to get tickets for any LCD shows, but if I can find any last minute tix, I will come and dance.
I am here to tell you all disappointing news...I bought Americone Dream while in Chicago the first evening we were there. I placed it in the freezer to eat on Friday Night after we got back from Riot Fest. Totally forgot I bought it. Found it Monday morning while cleaning up to checkout. It was 9am, I ate about 1/4 of the pint and couldn't eat anymore since I am not used to eating breakfast. Saddest day ever.

I'd still like to give a shout out to your hotel fridge for managing to keep ice cream frozen. Mad respect there.

So we got moved into our new place and to celebrate I bought some whole foods brand vanilla ice cream and some chocolate chip cookies. Last night we watched top chef and broke up the cookies in the ice cream. It was great.
But last night at 3am Nate knocked out our power. Still not on and I'm worried the ice cream has melted.
we bought a box of these from costco and they are pretty great. after dinner i put one in a bowl and include a few cookies around it to make mini dessert buffet.
for those who haven't had a mochi they are weird. it's like a weird dough around a small ball of ice cream. really great though.

Mochi is awesome and super addicting. I can confirm the The Trader Joe's mochi is delicious. The uninitiated should get them from a Korean bakery if possible though.

I wish I would have known about these when I went to Costco last weekend. I would have gotten these. <3
And coincidentally, today I find out that OddFellows, the very same ice cream shop that thought they could steal "Game of Cones" with no repercussions, is also making these mochi things! Only for this month, and they didn't steal them from us this time as evidenced by this article from this mont-old article:

is the dough flavored?
It's like sweet sticky rice. The flavoring is usually in the filling. I'm sure you can find all sorts of variations though.
