i love waffle cones. a good rule is if you are at an ice cream place and they have waffle irons sitting around you gotta get the waffle cone. honestly any waffle cone is delicious but if they are making them right there, it's next level.
my local ice cream place isn't fancy enough to make their own cones, but when i go get a bowl of ice cream there i usually just get them to put a waffle cone on top of the bowl. then i crush up the waffle cone into the ice cream and eat it with a spoon. i prefer this method to the traditional usage of a cone.

This is exactly what I did. There were a few cones that were structurally unsound as an ice cream receptacle, and I grabbed one of those and mashed it up before getting my scoops.

I once got in a fight with the root beer float vendor at Bonnaroo because she refused to sell me just root beer. Like adamantly, zero flexibility in the issue. It was infuriating.

You didn't want any ice cream? What's wrong with you?

I was thirsty and was craving soda. I didn't want Pepsi, Diet Pepsi or Mountain Dew and root beer sounded perfect.
The problem with root beer floats is that they're mostly ice cream and foam. I was not craving that.
I recently bought the Milk bar cookbook and have been overwhelmed with the choice of what to make next (I made the Birthday Cake for a birthday). Now it is decided.

we have both of the books and have made quite a few things. the birthday cake was a big time project but so worth it. crack pie was also great. i think we've made pretty much all of the cookies, but the corn cookies are what i always go back to. they're so good, and can be the "bread" for a grilled cheese if you really want to hate yourself. related, when i went to dc for adele last year, i made my friend walk to milk bar to get cookies because i couldn't not go. brought an extra for Jaz and they made him pretty much swallow it whole while in the metal detector. worth it.

The trick with the birthday cake (any of the cakes, really) is to ignore the 12 hours in the freezer once assembled. Froze mine for around 4 hours. You just want everything to firm up.
And, because I'm really great at following directions, I baked off the crunch at the same time as the cake. Just keep an eye on it.

I'd like to say I've never eaten a cookie so fast, but that would be a lie. Fastest in public for sure though.

The chocolate chip marshmallow corn cookies are where it's at.
I bought a few jars of the freeze dried corn powder for some friends once. The TSA guy at the airport stared at them for a couple minutes, always looking like he was going to ask a question, then just shook his head and handed them back to me.
Inspired all this talk, I splurged on a pint of Coffee Coffee Buzz Buzz Buzz last night. Still my favorite.
Used to be Coffee Toffee Crunch but they changed their toffee recipe and the new stuff is kind of chalky. They also killed Chubby Hubby by changing their pretzels.

(Apparently I have lots to say about ice cream.)
I can never find Chubby Hubby here anymore and it makes me sad. Now I'm even more sad that it's not as good.

They don't seem to let you add a radius so I'm not sure if it's limited to the specific zip code added but:
Edit: it appears that it's a 25 mile radius. It's still out there because there are 10 stores near me that carry it in that zone. Looks like you're SOL in the Capital Region, though.
I had the Chesterfield and Chips sundae: chocolate covered potato chips on Couch Potato (rich vanilla ice cream with swirls of caramel and peanut butter packed with chocolate covered potato chips) and Peanut Butter Epiphany (rich and creamy peanut butter ice cream with chunks of chocolate and chopped peanut) ice cream with peanut butter and caramel sauces on top. Pretty tasty stuff.
This will sound pretty partisan but Bonnaroo Coffee Buzz was my favorite Ben & Jerry's flavor of all time. They replaced it with the espresso chocolate one but it's just not the same without the whiskey and caramel flavors.

Oops, I missed that
I read it as Coffee Buzz (Buzz Buzz)

Milkshakes are the superior way to enjoy ice cream. Anyone who thinks otherwise is wrong
For more basic ice cream flavors I might agree with you, but once you start mixing in things like brownies, nuts, cookies, etc. milkshakes become ineffective

False. For example: my favorite milkshake, the Oreo milk shake, is best made with cookies and cream ice cream of some sort, milk and then a TON of oreos added again. Once you blend that together, crush up more oreos (small enough to fit through straw but not powdered) and lightly stir those in

I went to a new drive in/ice cream stand for lunch yesterday, and ordered something called the Green Monster milkshake, thinking it would be something crazy with mint, right?. I watched the girl make it.... it was vanilla ice cream, a drop of green food coloring, and a squirt of mint extract, and that was it.
I would have to search my memory to find a time I was more disappointed.
