I enjoyed the new Tops album. The singles are definitely the highlight, but overall it had a very nice sound. Like a more interesting version of Tennis.

I have been a little excited to hear it. I was a big fan of their last release.
Not new music, but GRiZ came out in an op-ed piece to help LGBT utes. I thought it was pretty well known that he and his partner were a thing. But apparently he'd never really addressed it in a public forum beyond whatever references were there in social media. I haven't read it yet, but if it inspires troubled kids to ditch their sorrows, good for him.
God, I'm so waiting for this album. This is a need and not a want.
11 more days!
Just found out today that some friends are opening this show. They are not jazz nor rock metal nor anything really, except one of the most hated bands in town. Plus side? That show is gonna be empty and I can buy ALL the merch.

Hiss Spun out September 22 on Sargent House. Recorded at God City by Kurt Ballou. Troy Van Leeuwen on lead guitar. I'd like to go ahead and lock in my Sept AotM vote.
"Los Angeles-based producer Jason Chung—better known as Nosaj Thing—has announced a new album. The follow-up to the 2015 LP Fated is titled Parallels and it arrives September 8 via Innovative Leisure. He’s also shared the record’s first single, “All Points Back to U,” which features Steve Spacek. Hear it below; scroll down for the full tracklist and Chung’s new tour dates. “My previous records reflected the anxiety of living inside my own imagination,” Chung said in a statement. “For Parallels, I went outside of that: it’s all about trying new things, creating new worlds.”"

St. Vincent just updated her Facebook picture and it looks like it would work as an album cover. So... hopefully a good music year is about to get even better.
