ZZ Ward, Gary Clark Jr, Earth Wind and Fire Cheap Trick, Greensky Bluegrass, Michael Kiwanuka, Lukas Nelson and the Promise of the Real, Nathaniel Ratliffe, and Jamell Richardson somewhere down the lineup would make it over the top for me. Maybe Sturgill Simpson in a swap for someone at the top.

It doesn't matter. We saw Coheed and Cambria before (at least one set before) and Gravity A after. I think Dispatch might have been that day as well. We have the programs at home, so if no one else can get you that answer, I'll look it up later.
From AL.com article - Those wanting to see new musical sensation the Alabama Shakes will have to get to the Hangout early. The Athens-based soul/rock band will play Friday at 2:15 p.m. on the Chevrolet stage. Also on Friday, Coheed & Cambria and Yelawolf will play different stages at 3:15, M. Ward and Dawes go on at 4:30, Chris Cornell and Paul Oakenfeld each start at 5:45, and Wilco and Umphree's Magee begin at 7 p.m.
White takes the main stage from 8:30 to 11 p.m., while STS9 will play the Xbox stage from 8:30 to 10:15.
On Saturday, the music starts at 11:15 a.m. with the Futurebirds, and rolls through the Red Hot Chili Peppers set from 9-11 p.m. Before the Chili Peppers, the String Cheese Incident will play two sets from 6:30 to 9 on the Chevrolet Stage, Flogging Molly thrashes at 7 p.m. and Randy Newman takes the stage at 2:15 p.m..
Sunday, Dave Matthews Band will close the festival with a set that's scheduled to run from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. The Flaming Lips and G Love & Special Sauce will be DMB's lead-ins at 6:30 p.m., Skrillex takes the stage at 5 p.m., and Michael Franti & Spearhead go on at 2:45 p.m.
New Robert Plant starting with "May Queen" shows a lot of promise. It would be waaaay cool to have him close Hangout with Stairway to Heaven and Black Dog. Yep.

Muse, Bruno, Monkeys, Lumineers, Two Door Cinema Club, Chromeo, Francis and the Lights - Thumbs up J. Cole, Danny Brown, Jurassic 5, Little Dragon, Big Gigantic 5 - Nope Matrin Garrix, Solange, Glass Animals, Bleachers- Meh, depends on who I am hanging out with, how much I've had to drink, beach or pool time
Lineup Lacking - Soul/R&B/blues (TTB, NMA, ZZ Ward, Gary Clark Jr, Michael Kiwanuka, Nathaniel Ratliffe, Earth, Wind and Fire), rock (any classic rock bands like Cheap Trick to Robert Plant), folk/americana/bluegrass (Steel Drivers, Jamey Johnson, Bonnie Raitt, Old Crow Medicine Show, Greensky Bluegrass, Kevin Morby, Lukas Nelson and the Promise of the Real)
Got my fingers crossed Hangout 2018 is 30-40% acts I'm interested in seeing instead of the 10-15% last couple years.
i'll def. be coming back next year, i can alrdy feel the sadness when i think of not attending in 2018. just no other fest ive been to that's a fest & vacation all in one. Theres something about watching bands in the sand all day and then your friends playing their own sets on the beach afterward behind the condo... waking up for mimosa, the shrimp, paddleboarding its just got too much going for it other then the lineup. idk that said, prolly wont be doing vip anymore just to use that money for other things in life.. possibly trying to do this family thing here soon.
Yeah I really want to go back but it's going to come down to lineup between Hangout and Roo. Roo SHOULD have a better lineup given it's size and budget so we're trying to keep everything relative. Theyre 2 vastly diff fests that are solid in their own ways but the vaca aspect can make up for some of the lineup drop off. probably 3 months away at this point.
ill be a few months removed from weddings by next year with none i can think of that would pop around that time so i hope the lineup is enough to get back. i dont ask for much, fuck any of LCD/AF/Gorillaz has me halfway in.

give me Kenny and James and i'd be happy enough to buy a ticket. the rest will fall into place as it should..
Beth Ditto, Ke$ha, ect.
I could honestly live with that top 3. I'd see the tent oppo ID and would love to see KL and LCD on the beach stage. What feels unlikely is that 2 of the top 3 are gonna be at Voodoo. I could see us getting any one of LCD, Killers, or Kendrick but I doubt 2 of them.

kendrick just feels over due to return at this point and if they dont nab him they'll miss out til the next album and that could be a while. i just love me some lcd.
LCD or Gorillaz w 2 shit-the-bed HL is fine with me. Kendrick and Arcade Fire w 1 shit-the-bed HL. Kanye West seems like a strong play for this.
So who raises to the top as HL status? (based off future album drops) -Future seems to be the big hip hop rise to the top
-Thirty Seconds to Mars
-Tyler, The Creator (maybe in 2019)
-The 1975 - ugh
-Vampire Weekend - also ugh but they seem like a good indie/alt fit
-Queens of the Stone, at first seem unlikely for this type of fest, but it feels like their next album is gaining momentum, and with Mark Ronson producing, everything shifts in a more dance/pop direction.
-St Vincent - if this next album gets big but she is hitting up small venues on the current tour
-Yeah Yeah Yeahs - are a reach but if they crush a new album maybe? They are headlining two others
-Iggy Azalea - New album, pretty much the worst possible scenario headliner
-Marilyn Manson - so Im going with least likely headliner but Trump is president so stranger things have happened.
