I really don't know what to say. I'm am so sad right now. I felt like Bowie was immortal. How can Bowie die? His last song song on his last album is much more powerful now. I Can't Give Everything Away. Great ending to a great career. He was one of my favorite artists and inspired my very favorite ones, Peter Gabriel, Depeche Mode, NIN & SO many more. This is a video from my very favorite artist covering one of my favorites.
If you are hurting today, it's because you truly love music, and understand the power it can have to bring joy into your life. The good news is David Bowie will continue to bring that joy into all of our lives, and into all future lives, with his incredible body of work.
RIP David Bowie, but forever alive in the minds and hearts of all of us, as well as unborn generations that will find wonder in his music.
I need to stop listening to DB today. I don't think I've ever been this upset about the passing of a celebrity, but crying at work isn't helping anyone.

Never got to see Bowie but whenever someone covered one of his songs, it was always a highlight of the set. Billy Corgan and co covering Space Oddity, Foo Fighters covering Under Pressure (never got to see Queen either), Walk the Moon covering Let's Dance, probably more that I wish I could remember now.

This has broken my heart. My spotify is having an In Memoriam in honor of him today. He had such a powerful impact on the music industry and will be missed.

Oh God. I read about this on Twitter and thought it was fake. Oh God I'm so, so sad. My heart is so heavy. His music got me through so much growing up, oh fuck.

Reading about how Blackstar was carefully timed as a parting gift for his fans, with Lazarus being released just days before. It really chokes me up. "Even his death was a work of art."

Tell me about it. I work on an inpatient psych unit and "Ziggy Stardust" had me in tears in the parking lot at 11am. Took me five minutes to steel myself for the day.
i actually gasped when i checked my email this morning and this was the npr headline. only the second time a celebrity death has brought me to tears. i spent the entire day shuffling through his discography and didn't feel the urge to skip a single song. i stopped to see my parents before work tonight, and they were dancing around singing space oddity together. what a special human, a true visionary, a real work of art.
