At least there was an excuse why Brees sucked so hard on Sunday. That game was miserable. We are in the bottom three in just about every power ranking out right now, and I agree with it. However, Seattle at 0-2 continues to be in the top ten in all of them. Whatever, power rankings are meaningless.
Notable teams at 0-2: Baltimore Ravens, Indianapolis Colts, Houston Texans, Philadelphia Eagles, Detroit Lions, Seattle Seahawks. Find me some publications out there that weren't putting the Ravens, Colts, Texans, Eagles, and Seahawks in the playoffs this year.
Notable teams at 2-0: Carolina Panthers, Atlanta Falcons, New York Jets.
It's been a weird few weeks so far.
It's extremely notable that the Patriots are 2-0, since they are being forced to play with fully inflated footballs for the first time since 2007
Last second, but will be in Baltimore on Sunday! Who-Dey!
WHO DEY! Bengals should have put up a lot more points than they did but damn I bet that was an awesome game to be at! On tv the annoucer said "I wonder how the bengals will react trailing for the first time this season" and BOOM 80 yard catch by AJ Green! That's how they react!
Of course the Pats were gonna beat Jax, but put 51 on them? I thought their defense wasn't that atrocious. We usually put up 50 against the Titans, Colts, and Reds

To be fair, the Reds are a baseball team. You can only expect their D to be so good.

It was a great time in Baltimore! Was in the corner-endzone in which that Green had that 80 yard touchdown...pretty sure I pissed off some Ravens fans with my reaction. Seen a lot of Andy Dalton over the years, he seemed different today. Had a lot of accuracy on 15+ yard passes, which he hasn't had in the past.
You really don't understand why Seattle (a team loaded with talented players coming off of three straight playoff trips, including one Super Bowl and a near-loss in a second Super Bowl), are still considered a top ten team after losing a tight one to the Rams in St. Louis and at Green Bay, while New Orleans (a garbage team with an aging quarterback, a dearth of skill players and an abhorrent defense) are towards the bottom after losing to the Cardinals and the (dear God in heaven) Tampa Bay Buccaneers? You really don't get that?
Actually, if you had read what I wrote, you'd see that I said I agree that the Saints should be at the bottom. My exact quote, which I'll type out again for you in case you miss it again, was this: "We are in the bottom three in just about every power ranking out right now, and I agree with it." The Saints look like horse shit.
As far as Seattle goes, I understand that they've had a great team the last two years. I think this is why power rankings are so pointless because they are typically based on the writer's feelings and opinions, and not always based on statistics or head-to-head competition.
If they were based more closely on statistics and head-to-head competition, the argument for Seattle is a lot more difficult to make. They are tied for 29th in points allowed, 17th in yards allowed, 19th in yards gained, 14th in points scored, tied for 13th in sacks, and have zero interceptions. They also lost to St. Louis who just lost 24-10 to the Washington Redskins. The Rams are anywhere from 5-15 spots lower in the rankings than Seattle. Yeah, I understand that there are only two games to use for statistical purposes, but I've seen Seattle still as high as 7th.
Yeah, but they just blew out the Jimmy Clausen -led Bears in Seattle...

I really wish Brees would've taken a seat last week when he first knew that he wasn't throwing well. It is pretty clear after yesterday that Luke McCown is a fully capable game manager. We'll never know what would've happened, but a healthy McCown could've probably beaten Tampa Bay. I would feel a lot better about the season thus far if the Saints were 1-2 after losing to the Cardinals at Arizona and Panthers at Carolina.
My only beef with McCown was the illogical interception in the end zone. It was a quality interception, though. Props to Norman on that one. If you have 3rd and 6 on the CAR 23 with 1:17 remaining, you take two downs to get those six yards, you don't go for it all. There was plenty of time left to get those 23 yards. Even if Cooks would've made the catch instead of the fully extended Norman, you leave Carolina with over a minute to kick the winning or at best tying field goal. I didn't expect the game to even be close, so I was pretty satisfied overall. It was just another loss in the final minutes, which I'm very used to at this point.
1-0 in division play with the road win over the Titans. Who are you thinking wins the South? The Jags? Haha. Texans have a shot but they are playing as sloppy as the Colts.
If Mariota can progress over the course of the season, titans
Someone posted earlier about which coaches will be fired this year. Fisher and Coughlin are good guesses, but the first coach to be fired, is going to be Joe Philbin. I had high hopes for Dolphins this year, but after the last two games, they have not progressed, but have regressed. That falls on coaching, so fire him now and let's start talking Gruden. With that, Go Phins!!
I hope the Browns fire Farmer and Pettine. Not even a Browns fan but those fans deserve something positive in place and it starts with getting rid of them. And finally giving Johnny a chance. Being on the bench like that must really be adding fuel to his fire..
thepeppers just wanted to say that I love your new avatar!
Nice chance this weekend to open up a 2 game lead on the division!
Yup. I could see Dalton and the receiving core tearing up the secondary of the Chiefs just like last week against Baltimore. Just need to cut back on the stupid penalty's and hopefully manage the clock a little better. The way Marvin handled the end of the first half was ridiculous.
Great finish to the game in OT. Should've never missed that FG, but maybe it needed to happen for the game winning 80 yard pass for Brees' 400th career TD.
End of the day, still three games back on the Panthers AND the Falcons
