I agree it was painful watching him alienate the class action rep from her friends, it was a shitty thing to do. But should we really consider it a swindle? Personally, while the means were cruel, I think Jimmy's goal was, while selfishly motivated, ultimately a good thing for the plaintiffs.
It's a case of misaligned incentives. The firm's incentive was to push on the class action because they are getting a significant cut of the settlement, so a higher settlement means significantly more cash for them, but for the plaintiffs the settlement is so thinly distributed that waiting wouldn't significantly increase their individual payouts. Based on what we've seen and what we know about Jimmy, I think settling now is in the best interest of the client, who can get more benefit out of money now than slightly more money in 5 years.
While Jimmy is not a paragon of virtue, I think we are seeing a code emerge, and I think that code is that Jimmy ultimately believes in individual justice for everyone. I've thought this ever since that flash forward when he yelled at that shoplifter to not say anything and get an attorney. This code is also how he could ultimately justify his full transition to Saul Goodman, in that people get screwed over by the justice system so many ways that even clearly guilty criminals deserve the best representation possible.
Or maybe I just like Jimmy so I want to defend him.
Crazy new theory that probably isnt true and would require the creators assigning meaning to things from Breaking Bad not originally planned. Maybe Saul wasn't wearing the Wayfarer 515 ribbon way longer than everyone else because he was trying to get clients, maybe Kim was on the plane. He certainly seems to go from small time "criminal" lawyer to all inhibitions out the window after the plane crash.

Would be interesting, for sure. I haven't heard that one/thought about it.
I do hope Kim makes it out alive even though she doesn't get mentioned/seen in BB. I don't know when it is in the timeline but I do recall reading people point out how Saul recommends snuffing out Badger early on (usually when people are defending Jimmy too much and acting like Saul wasn't that bad of a guy in BB). Could be after the plane crash but it's been a few years since a BB re-watch so I'm not sure.
I've seen other (joke) theories about Kim getting hooked on meth and hooking up with Splooge, the guy who gets an ATM dropped on his head in BB. Obviously not going to happen but the comments made me laugh. The seed of that theory is from Kim saying "always the good stuff" when choosing her pain-killer following the pain crash. Seen more than a few people suggesting she gets hooked on pain meds (or worse).
I’ve been rewatching the series lately, and this show is better than B.B. knowing what we know now, and watching Chuck and Jimmy’s relationship through the series has opened my eyes to just how well done it was. This might be the best show on television right now.
Anyone have any thoughts on this season so far? Same quality story telling and character development that we are used to from these guys. For a show where virtually no intense action happens, I am always completely enthralled with the storyline. I really am anxious about Kim’s story playing out.

i'm completely loving it. every season has been better than the previous.
we don't have to spoiler things through season 3 right? i'll do it just to be safe:
and honestly with i think it's better with chuck out of the picture. don't get me wrong he was a good character, but chuck as a foil for jimmy had run it's course.
I find that so annoying, just put the damn date up in the first place lol.
I love you as I say this
As an editor / writer / director it's like being told by the studios - we don't care about the quality you put out. Just put it out on our schedule. When making a GREAT show can often take longer than the usual cycles that linear television (ABC, CBS, NBC, CW, etc.) work within. Also all these people make shows that then they receive pennies on on the backend, they deserve the extra 2 weeks of work and stability.
Please never forget Netflix is NOT a pure union operation.

Just came to post that.
Loved the cameo of the guy asking "You're the guy, right?". I believe that's supposed to be the meth-head who gets his brain squashed by an ATM when they're holding Jesse hostage. I haven't looked it up yet but I think it's the same actor. So we may see him before he destroys his life.
Maybe i'm blanking or not remembering but who is the guy in the final shot who lifts his head into frame with Lalo behind him?
Edit: Apparently some online thought it was Lalo's twin at first but then I saw a theory about it being a body double or something of Lalo. I thought it was an old character (or one in Breaking Bad) that I forgot about.
