My wife and I are on a quest for landing new careers in 2015. To document the journey, I've started a blog. The problem is, I obviously want a lot of people and/or prospective employers reading it, but I can't post it on social media because so many of my colleagues, or my wife's colleagues, follow me on social media. We don't really want our current employers to know that we're on the job hunt.
Does anyone have any suggestions of how to get more readers without me posting it on social media every day?
Create social media accounts strictly for the blog (Gmail for e-mail, twitter, maybe facebook) and share it on there a lot.
Share it on Reddit and other link aggregator-type of sites.
Learn what SEO (search engine optimization) is and how to get your pages/blogs to rank.
Good suggestions! Just created a twitter profile linking to each blog entry while tweeting the companies directly. twitter.com/dreamjob2015
Look into/learn about hashtags and other methods of spreading your message on twitter. The goal is to get other people tweeting, retweeting, and replying to your stuff. The more eyes that see it the better.
