I could see the Childish Gambino guess because of STN MTN mix tape, but the lunchbox being a returning artist is confusing. If it is a returning artist associated with the lunchbox wouldn't that mean its an artist from last year because that's when we got the lunch boxes?
“Music has always been a matter of Energy to me, a question of Fuel. Sentimental people call it Inspiration, but what they really mean is Fuel. I have always needed Fuel. I am a serious consumer. On some nights I still believe that a car with the gas needle on empty can run about fifty more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio.” - Hunter Thompson

That's what I would think. Who knows.
They sure know how to make these clues impossible..reminds me of the stupid tumble weed photo from last year...

Someone on the FB group had an idea that isn't completely asinine. He linked to this song, "On Blue Ridge Mountain", which was written by a man in Springfield. The song "Blue Ridge Mountains" by Fleet Foxes also contains the lyric "over near Tennessee", which could relate to the lunchbox being over the Roo Clue on Snapchat.

Donald Glover was voted "most likely to write for The Simpsons" in high school (no, seriously). He eventually wrote a script for the show and credits it as the start of his writing career.

I doubt this is the answer because I can't connect the lunchbox but thought I'd post it here and see if anyone can. When I see Welcome to Springfield, I think The Simpsons. Sturgill Simpson's last album was called High Top Mountain, which would fit the Instagram clue.
I don't care about the lunch box. This is the right answer.

I could see it..I am happy with either of the two top guesses so far.

What he said. Plus the lunchbox could represent someone young, as in a young artist, as lunchboxes are normally carried by young people.

as much as I love fleet foxes, I'm still convinced that they're never going to come out of whatever this hiatus that they're in is.

Someone on the Bonnaroo subreddit offered a plausible guess that hasn't been mentioned here: TV On The Radio.
Here's my adaptation of this person's perspective. The first clue is obviously a picture of a mountain (and most likely does not represent a specific mountain). The consensus opinion on the second clue seems to be that the lunchbox signifies a returning artist. Return to Cookie Mountain is TV On The Radio's breakout album and arguably their most critically acclaimed to date. Lastly, the radio clue, "Welcome to Springfield", appears to be a reference to the The Simpsons. You could make the case that Bonnaroo is literally referencing television (The Simpsons) on the radio (Roo Radio). Any thoughts?
Edit: Forget to mention that TV On The Radio would be a returning artist because they played in '09.

I can see the connections there. I do have to say if it is TV on the Radio and if the lunchbox is not only signifying a returning artist, but you said TV on the Radio's breakout album was Cookie Mountain. The lunchbox is on the side of the little monster that looks like the Cookie Monster... that would make it a pretty complicated tie-in but who knows?
I personally think its Sturgill Simpson or Childish Gambino, but I suck at most these clues.

I've actually been thinking it's TV on the Radio, too. The monster on the lunch box got me thinking about Cookie Monster. Returning Cookie Monster + Mountain = TVOTR.

TV on the Radio isn't a bad guess. I just find the cookie monster/Springfield parts to be quite a stretch. I've never once thought that thing on the lunch box looked like The Cookie Monster. If you're trying to make it fit, I guess it's close enough. The only thing it really shares with the cookie monster is color and even that's not uniform. The arms are completely different. Looks more like an alien to me. I could be wrong. I just don't think the resemblance is enough for the clue makers to have intended it.
