I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post this here, so if I'm not please let me know and I'll remove it because I love me some inforoo.
So pretty much I'm tired of Arcade Fire skipping Florida on every single tour, and so I'm attempting to crowd fund an Arcade Fire concert. If it worked for the Foo Fighters, surely it could work with Arcade Fire, right?
Thoughts? Help? Am I crazy?
Everyone in the WHOLE WORLD got to experience The Reflektor tour except Florida. We need this.
Short Summary I live in Florida and I am TIRED of good artists skipping over the state like it doesn't even exist:
Arcade Fire have played two shows here ever, both with capacity of less than 1000.
The whole world got to experience the Reflektor tour, BUT US.
The band will/has already begun a hiatus from touring, so hopefully we can catch them before they are to deep into hibernation.
We love you, Arcade Fire, please love us back!
What We Need & What You Get
I'm not sure how much it costs to book Arcade Fire in concert, but they seem like cool dudes and gals and I'm sure they will be nice and $50,000 would work.
All that donate 40.00 or more will get a ticket, we will have this concert somewhere BIG if need be.
All funds will go to Arcade Fire, and to secure a venue for the show, and event expenses.
The Impact This worked with the Foo Fighters, and the members of Arcade Fire seems pretty awesome, maybe they'd accept the 50,000.00 bribe!
Florida needs more live music, especially from super awesome artists that have forever changed modern music.
This would be a truly unique experience for the fans and the artist.
It would be an awesome show to remember!
I have never booked a concert before, but I think this could work.
If Arcade Fire decline, all funds raised will be refunded immediately. We will make this happen!
Other Ways You Can Help Some people just can't contribute, but that doesn't mean they can't help:
Share this on social media. Tweet it to Arcade Fire! Let's do this guys! Let's work as a Team and make this happen!
Have you contacted potential venues? Inquired about booking fees? Insurance? Noise/light permits? Performance permits? Crowd control? Staffing? Parking?
What's your game plan here? You can't just radiate positivity when the local safety commission shuts your whole operation down because you don't have the proper permits and insurance for a large, noisy, crowded public event, Moonbeam. Get it together.

Yeah, I've actually got a venue on lockdown for the event, which will provide all of the above in exchange for Alcohol sales. Hence the limit amount of the tickets.

See cynical counselor, Moonbeam does have his shit together. And we all know FF fans like to drink.

That seems to contradict with this:
"All that donate 40.00 or more will get a ticket, we will have this concert somewhere BIG if need be."
What's the venue? Also, I think your estimate of how much it'd cost to coax AF into this is extremely low. You really need to give people a little more confidence in your plan before they start forking over money.

yeah I need to remove that, I wrote this information when I was super tired last night. I know Arcade Fire cost more around the 300,000K+ range, but this is supposed to be an intimate experience between the fans and the band. If all the tickets are sold, it would bring in more like 200,000, which would all go directly to the band.

You admit that Florida got TWO shows during the Reflektor album cycle and then complain that your state didn't get a Reflektor show. Many states didn't get any shows this album cycle. Most people in the world would have had to travel much farther than you to see a show on this tour.

I wonder if people were so cynical and slightly rude to AC and Superfly when they said they were going to do Bonnaroo, a couple of years after a massive flop of a festival at the same location.

Well, AC and Superfly had experience, and probably asked for help in the areas that they didn't. You're expecting people to fork over $50,000 with no assurances that the band will agree, no info about the venue, and no assurances that you have any idea what you're doing. And now you're getting snippy when people dare question the logistics of this.

I'm not getting snippy. I asked a question the same way you guys did.

Oh, it was a serious question, Sorry. The answer is no. AC and Superfly inspired a lot more confidence than this. Did you even mention what city this was going to take place in? Florida is a big place (from my understanding, I wouldn't be caught dead there).

Orlando, Florida. Kind of the center of the state. And I agree, it is an awful place haha. And to be honest, I don't really know what I'm doing, and it's probably a ridiculous idea, which is why I posted on here asking for thoughts, ideas, ect. I just genuinely love the band and had to choose between driving 8 hours to atlanta to see them, or going to Bonnaroo. Obviously I chose Bonnaroo haha.
brghteys1216 I see you've decided not to back your own project.
Excellent choice.
I gave up already haha, everyone seemed to think it was a bad idea so I said screw it, and I've been busy the past few days with work, it's gone now though.

It was a good idea I thought, just had to get the details lined out. Just for the record, that tour came nowhere close for myself. No Charlotte/Charlottesville/Richmond/Raleigh best I remeber. I hate how DC often covers the whole state of VA for tours when almost everywhere South/West of Roanoke is 4+ hours away.
