That was the weirdest booking on that first EForest lineup. I would have been more stoked about that than all the EDM crap and 6th tier jamtronica acts.
I loved both those Rothbury lineups. It was just difficult to take the EF lineup seriously when it came out and listed REO as a special performance.
My grandfather and I were just discussing lock'n today and I told him it was basically guaranteed that they would book The Dead (having no idea that this had been confirmed) and he got very excited. I'm soooo excited, I might have to do lock'n with my grandfather, that sounds surprisingly amazing.
They tell us "Rock'n'roll is the devil's music." Well, let's say we know that rock is the devil's music, and we know that it is, for sure … At least he fuckin' jams! If it's a choice between eternal Hell and good tunes, and eternal Heaven and New Kids on the fuckin' Block … I'm gonna be surfin' on the lake of fire, rockin' out.
I was just wondering if any of you did VIP last year and if it was worth the extra cash.
We did VIP and I would say that is was "just" worth it. I certainly don't think you'd have any serious inconvenience not going VIP. Compared to the value or going VIP at Bonnaroo I'd say it has approximately 70% of the value.

I'm hoping for a Dead reuinon on Friday and just getting a one day pass and going to the Richmond race Saturday night. That was my plan last go around with Tom Petty, but he played on Saturday.
I have heard a few people who claim to have sources say they think both The Dead and Phish will play in September, and have maybe signed exclusive festival contracts with Lockn.
If that is the case, then this festival has took over as the biggest jam festival in the US in a span of three years.
Yea Ive heard the same. Phish and Dead playing alternating sets on two of the nights. Its my local big fest so Ill be there, 2014 was a blast expecting more of the same

I thought they locked that up their first year with the lineup they had and reinforced it with the Lesh exclusivity deal the next. The Blue Ridge Mountains are beatiful, but a few things I'd like to see Lockn do is improve the venue, make the grounds more of an experience, and add some art. Spirit of Suwanee and Sherwood Forest blow them away in this aspect. Lockn has some neat attractions like hiking, yoga on the water, and other things they offer, but they are miles away from the fest site and cost extra.

I spoke with one of the organizers and he said there are big changes this year including them beginning to build an amphitheater this month. Not sure size and scale but they are building an ampitheater.

Thats some interesting news. It would seem the shakedown stage would be the best spot for it to go in. Any idea of the placement?

I'm skeptical Phish would play, but I'm hoping. I live in DC so this is any easy trip. Mostly because Phish has never played one of the "jam band" festivals (although, prior to Bonnaroo 2009, they had rarely played any festival).
